Shame you dont want to do it with indonesians there is a huge scene for it there i have a few friends who race off road in a heavily modified wrangler jeep all over the country in proper organised events.

IOF (Indonesia off-road federation) is the big club here. http://iof.or.id/tentang-iof/

You'll find quite a few of the Indonesian's who take part can speak passable English.

This is a link for Sentul off-road park. http://scopoffroad.multiply.com/

There's lots of contrived 'adventure' out there but that trip is the real deal. Did you get to the part where one of them was attacked by a swarm of wasps or bees to add to the misery already created by impossible mud tracks, heat and humidity?

Just finished off the entire blog/trip, what an excellent adventure.
This is absolutely the real deal, now where is the blog from the 4x4 team?
I want to see the pictures of changing a clutch while stuck suspended by a winch halfway up the cliff face

Did you get the link to this one? http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...ight=indonesia Shows there is a lot of good off-road trails in Indonesia but some local knowledge required to avoid frequent cul-de-sacing.

That clutch job sounded like a challenge, to say the least.
