  • English Lecturer at Tasikmalaya, West Java

    The Edgar Brood Academic Chair (EBAC) is a non-profit organisation based in the Netherlands and Belgium, founded by the Brood-Grapperhaus family and friends commemorating the late Dr Edgar Brood. Together with the PA International Foundation, our work focuses on developing English language skills and information technology for students and the people of Tasikmalaya. Since 2003, EBAC has been generously funding a full-time lecturer to help with the teaching and learning activity at Siliwangi University and Tasikmalaya region.

    As our yearlong successful Lecturer has been awarded a Fullbright Scholarship, we are currently looking for a new EBAC Lecturer of English to teach at Siliwangi University and in the Tasik region. The preferred candidate should have sufficient experience in teaching English (a min of two years), have studied or worked abroad or in an international environment, be able to work with the Siliwangi University community and Tasik government, and possess English teaching qualifications (e.g., a master’s degree in TESOL/TEFL-related from overseas universities and or CELTA certification).

    Requirements:
    1. Male/ Female
    2. Overseas graduate, master’s degree in TESOL/TEFL-related/ CELTA certification
    3. Fluent in oral and written English (near-native)
    4. A min of 2 years of experience in teaching English
    5. Has substantial international experience/ working internationally
    6. Able to speak Bahasa Indonesia
    7. Passionate about teaching English to university and K-12 level as well as government officials
    8. Able to teach with technology/give online classes
    9. Have good communication skills, high integrity, is responsible, and disciplined
    10. Ready to be stationed in Tasikmalaya, West Java.
    We offer a competitive monthly fee, housing in our own facilities, a supportive local and European team and an opportunity to be involved in additional projects initiated by PA International to help stimulate educational and economic development in Tasikmalaya.

    Basic requirements for a legal job in Indonesia :

    PerMen no.10 Year 2018 (Indonesian Manpower Regulation - not an official translation)
    Article 5
    A foreign worker must :
    a. have education diploma that is related to the qualifications required for the work position ;
    b. have a competency certificate or have work experience of at least 5 years related to the qualifications required for the work position ;
    c. transfer his/her expertise to a designated Indonesian worker;
    d. have an Indonesian Tax Registration Number if to work for more than 6 months; and
    e. have a Work Visa/e-ITAS issued by the Indonesian Immigration Department .

    For legally teaching English in Indonesia you must also be a citizen of the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada .
