The same as when I meet people from other countries and cultures. I like some of them, indifferent towards most, don't like some of them. It comes down to the personality of the individual not their heritage or cultural background.

I'm an Indonesian man. Never hearing such a thing in chatting with my American, Pakistan and Dutch friends in Facebook. They even ask me to teach them Bahasa Indonesia, and have a huge curiosity about Indonesia. My advice, if you met those people you mentioned, just ignore. They not worth it. But before that, you can do a little bit of self introspection.

well some friends of mine in US and some EU countries told me they received "hi i from indonesia. nice to know you" note or "hi i girl from jakarta. want really to have bule boyfriend" or something like that, which ended up with the girl ask for money or some stuffs like LV bags, or gucci shoes.
not really much different than getting a hi message from Nigeria or Ghana.


so maybe aside from your english, try to convince them that you are not a money girl, ... and one thing you have to bear in mind , desperation has never been a good accesories.
