i'm so bored. still doing my internship then thinking about the topic should i take for my thesis

The beginning of my end-of the-world day

- I wake up late, relax, I take the motorcycle for go work. Recently it have a lot of heavy truck transporting ground nearby my office in the middle of the jungle. Added to the rain of the rain season, that left a coating of mud upper the conpacted ground and rock road for the result of being scary slipery for around 2 km. That make around a month a didn't go directly by motorcycle. Now it make 3 day it didn't rain, the mud must have dry up...

- Thrugh time I find a shortcut that allow to cut the traffic, need to run a ugly broken part. But nothing so bad. After turn on my shortcut, run a while, arrive at the bad part... it's bloked! They are puting a slad of beton over the muddy road. Yeah! ....shit, I need to go back and take the road with traffic.

- After go back to the main road, turn in the tight "main" road that habitually have traffic... Hey! it's empty!... That was a bad sign!!! I fastly cross the whole thigh part start to be near of the "mountain". It's a small mountain (+/- 100m) that is the limit of the city, a up and down with an intersection at the top... an intersection that have a full block jam. Habitually I need to slower in this part (20-30 km/h) but never see any traffic and can easily be at my cruising speed of 40-60km/h. This morning I have a line of stopped car for 1 km from the city and 2 km in the other way.

- After polisi arrive help to clear a way for both side of circulation, I was back to the normal traffic. Then I arrive to the corner of the "off-road" part... Damn! the road is blocked, they are puting a slab a beton here too. I can see a motorcycle track in the ground added for flattened the road, I decide to take a try... At worse I will have to come back and use another road. I stopped the first motorcycle I crossed and ask if I would be able to reach the river. The girl comfirm me it was driveable. Hopefully the part in "repair" was only a short part and the recent beton added was already dry.

- Despite had wake up late, it's more fast by motorcycle and I was suppose to be on time... I finally arrive 30 minute late!

well today is the last day of the year of most of my colleagues in the office .... except me! sigh
i'll be sitting alon in my office, doing some nothing useful thing ....
am a new person in this office, and unfortunately .... the 'brochure' of the job description is way the opposite of the reality. i thought my new boss would be a fun person to work with, ... in reality yeah , fun person, but always steal subordinates ideas and proposal and claims the credits for own personal advantages.
and the worst thing was, this boss talked about me with a colleague with their original language, and never thought that i know that language a bit.. whoops. and they talked about how lucky they are to get me and paying me cheaply ... dang!

i like the job, but this boss attitude is quite annoying eh..

same here naughtygab I'll still have to pop in on Sunday and Monday - hopefully just for a few hours. But we'll see.. Today was not bad at all, nothing too crazy.. all is good

oh man today was a horrible day for me ... tho it ends well.
i planned to meet a friend at plasa senayan , then go to tanah abang to buy some stuffs , then meet up another friend, then go to church for the last advent of the month
i did the plasa senayan, then parked my car at sarinah , and walked to tanah abang ( about 20 min walking .. it was ok i like to walk) .. then after buying the stuffs i want, the rain was soooo hard. so i had to wait for 90 min. or maybe more.
when the rain almost stopped, i decided to run from building to building avoiding to get totally wet. .... i jumped into a mini bus that was filled with so many people.
close to sarinah the driver screamed that sarinah area is flooded. then i jumped from the bus and walked at the instersection of sarinah. the road was filled with cars avoiding the water on the street.
i crossed the street and went to sarinah by the bridge. .... uhm... i took out my cellphone and made pictures of how bad the flood was.
crossing the bridge i saw my car is 'taking bath' at the parking lot. dang. i went over to see the condition, the height of the water was about 50-60 cm. it didnt get into my car, but i was told not to drive my car. so i had to wait for another 2 hours for the water to cease.
so i had to skip church and sit nicely at the sarinah stairs. thank God my car is ok. i could move my car to the dry place , but couldnt get out of the area becuase the water was still high
2 hours later i drove back home , the traffic was so bad.. gosh .. what a terrible mother's day

driving scooter in the rain, arriving at the dentist soaking wet head to toe in all existing fabric of my clothes, I got water dripping all over my clothes and then driving back in the rain back to the office grab my house key and go home, change clothes and drive back to work in the rain, but this time its only 30% wet. all in all boredom gets the best of me today

There is something I don't understand from Indonesian (at least down here in Samarinda): I never saw someone bring spare cloth for changing after a ride under rain.
When I ride to my office (45 minute) I will oftenly bring spare shirt for "in case of"
When I left and it rain, I will intentionally put a t-shirt that I know it will get plus or less wet and bring a shirt in a plastic bag inside my backpack.

Sometime I feel "strange" (yah... as a foreigner it's quite easy to feel strange compare to other) as I'm the only one that ride around with a backpack.
But hey! I have light rain cloth always with me (more effective to keep me clean of mud than protecting from rain), I have spare cloth and sock for in case of, I have spare food for in case of and I even have spare coffee packet (2-in-1) waiting for a cup and hot water.

It was just a quick errands from the office to the dentist, and the rain start pouring down after I drove 600 meters away from my office and I wore rain coat. Only bring my wallet and phone and kept it in the trunk. Dang! it was like thousands bucket of water poured down on me..

yes Phil .. in a weird way it's the best thing at the moment. since the chuch parking lot was flooded too ha ha ...
today , it's not really a bad day i guess... , but the 'trauma' of having my laptop , camera and handycam stolen on christmas eve ( someone broke into my house while i was at church...or maybe before that ) is still there. it's not about the lost of the stolen part, but the thought of uninvited strangers had come to my personal place bother me a lot.
now i have to spare some money again to buy a new laptop since at the moment i need to stop my design work.
and uhm... Phil, i have to learn to speak french. ... man .... now i wish i were born in the french spreaking part of belgium
