  • My day was okay. The last few months have been nuts - mostly revolve around work. And I dont think we have even scraped the surface yet! Doing it day by day though. I'm much more grateful when the weekend comes, I happily get up earlier and sleep later!

last nite the traffic going home is sooooo good. usually it takes 45 min driving plus 1 hour queuing at the toll gate, but yesterday was only 50 min driving (hard rain) and 2 min at the toll gate

      • Since a week I had some trouble with my motorcycle, no more power over 5000rpm.... 5000, it's where the motor use to start to have some grunt!

I have go to a place that clean up all the carburetor, change the spark plug... it change nothing!
I can feel some improvement in the low rev, but still no power when twisting the throttle and lot of back fire!

This morning, before go to Yamaha, I have take a look at the motor, I find the petrol line was linking... one more repair on the list!

Look like everything is broking down in same time!

Now out of Yamaha, the bike run like a new, YEAH!

... Now I can concentrate to finding a new rear suspension and new tire...

big Hug to you too Felip, miss to hear stories about your little princesses and your wife, maybe you should try to write your own blog about your happy family.
Mina - i'm truly sad to hear about your friend's daughter, many sad stories also from my side, about sickness and death of the closest family. a good Bos of my hubby gets viruses on her brain and she's in coma right now. one of family has serviks cancer and mother of my friend has breast cancer. uncle has heart attack. driver gets stroke and many else are suffering too, this situation makes me afraid of everything, bacteria, virus and dirty food even the air we breathe. let us pray together, you and me we all will be OK.

            • Hi everyone,

Well my day is going well so far... we are settling into our house in Surabaya. We now have a cooker that is connected to gas....(no takeaway tonight!!)....The pool is now ready to swim in and I had a dip with my boys before lunch... I am relaxing as my 2 year old sleeps and my 4 year old plays angry birds on my phone whilst I catch up on life on the forum... it is nice in our aircon, but we ventured out for a bike ride around the estate earlier today.... I found Carrefour yesterday so I'm so happy to shop there for my weekly groceries. The only thing I'm not too happy with is the mosquitos, 'cause they love my blood and we've all been bitten so much.... but other than that, life is good!!

              • @jellygrapes: yeah mosquitos is a problem for almost everyone in here.. there are some ways you can do to make them less.
                1. buy lavender plants..
                2. plant some serai ( lemongrass .. there was a thread about this ...)
                3. there is a mosquito repeller in some store.. i am not sure whether it works 100 percent.. but hope it helps
                4. close the door all the time.. , the mosquitos usually hide in the garden .. and some dark area.. maybe some fogging is needed..
                5. put some minyak kayu putih to your skin /children skin .. , better than some chemical lotion ..
                enjoy your stay !!!!

                    • ah philipe, when i was a kid , my grandma always put minyak kayu putih on me.. and i hate the smell.. but after years later, up until now, i could not sleep without the smell of minyak kayu putih .. i guess it depends on the brand, there are some brand that smells hard, but some smells softer..

                      • black out for hours, my appointment cancelled and reschedule to tomorrow, waited for a guy at work for an hour and had to go back and forth for a last minute cancelled appointment. Well, at least I get a nap for a few hours.

A nap is always a good thing!

                            • last nite, when i was driving home, my car sudenly stop... , just stop and i could not start the engine at all. i have tried to check the electricity .. and found out that's the problem. but i cant do anything to fix it.
i called jasa rahardja who said they have free service to pull my car to the toll gate ( exactly 1 km from the gate) ... but i have to pay anyway, lucky me to have a mechanic who is willing to help me, to receive my car in his place so he can check my car in the morning. ... so, on friday morning i could not go to the office at least until mid day.. and the mechanic is only open at 8...so i can wake up a bit late .... so it's a blessing in disguise :-D

                              • I hate this week.

On Wednesday my Uncle died, then yesterday my Grandmother died (my uncles mother), 24 hour to the minute later. How weird is that.

Both in the UK and no way I can get back to pay my respects. The price of being an expat.
