In the States most cities even prohibit police officers from working part-time anywhere else (moonlighting) the thought is that it invites corruption and abuse of power.

In Montreal police man have been reprimanded (because it made the news) because they have escort a "celebrity" to her plane at the airport.

The concept of renting a cop would raise the hair of many (if not all) in my country as it destroy any principle of equality of treatment.

it could be not a politician. Anyone who has money can hire the police to clear up the traffic. Disgusting
