today i feel soooo sleepy. my air con is broken on monday nite, and i could not get any technician to fix it at that time. on tuesday and wed, i have some important appointments.. so i could not stay home and wait for them to fix the air con.
the appointments made me woke up at 4 in the morning, and got home around 7 -8 pm.
the technician will would come tomorrow.. so hopefully i can sleep again after tomorrow.

It's funny how life can be boring with nothing happening for may day and suddenly everything happen in same time.

Yesterday when my wife left... I mean when she try to leave, she got stopped by a snake rolled around the bar of the gate just upper the handle. Quite hard to miss it was right in our face. It's me who was appointed to get rib of it... With a big comotion about "don't get bite".
With a stick I make it fall. It's funny how those little thing (60cm) are always ready to fight.

Finally he run in the sewer. Later I learn by internet ulat tambang are not venimous... But not sure.
Anyway it reapear 5 minute later and I let the kid have a look at him... From a distance!

My wife was on her way for delivery to our customer at the nearby toyato. It's kind of practicle to have the people at a consessionary as customer when you buy a car.
They told my wife the "we will get our car before the 20" is today and we will have the car tomorrow.

YEAH!

And this morning the electricity drop at 9, probably for the rest of the day.

Now it's mostly dual, bahasa and english.
I talk english with my wife and bahasa with the kid... And my kid still have a malaysian accent because of Upin & Ipin.

In some week the older one will go to school where she will learn english.
I start to talk to her more and more in French. Me and my wife are thinking of swithcing to French... We will see

So how consistent are you? By that I mean: The ideal picture is that the parents speak their own language with the children. But all together they speak a 'common language'. So I speak Dutch, my wife BI and together we speak English. Worked pretty well, almost fluent in three languages. The only problem could be the writing skills. And more and more you will be pulled in and tempted to speak BI as well. Don't.

Every night before go sleep I learn some basic to my older girl, she ask for it.
We count her 10 finger in english, in Bahasa and in French
We learn the color in the 3 same language.
And we said the alphabet, first just telling them and than singing the alphabet song.


Yesterday I was walking alone with the older one and thinking she must start to know the alphabet I ask her to told me it.
With a big proud smile she told me: A B C D W X Y Z

Ok... We still have work to do!

no.. only the good ones goes on her.. the bad ones would go to the respective 'fruit children' aka subordinates. , the previous big boss didnt care at all. as long as she could lick his a** well.
the new boss , *sigh* he have heard 90 % of our trouble with that selfish boss, but couldnt do much. ... he told us, well we need to keep her as she is XXXXX ( well he mentioned the country name, but it would bad for me if i mention it. i know some of the expats in my office are in this forum, but they dont know me ..... hopefully).

even we have different toilets.

If she's the type of person who thinks "everything that goes on in my department is on me, good or bad", there is not a lot you can do about it. Even requesting the limelight once in a while and getting the promise you will, won't change it.

That is one of the reasons many companies have 360° reviews (with input from boss, co-worker lateral, staff and person him/herself) and skip-level interviews and meetings (so you talking with the boss of your boss).

ah it doesnt work at all. i put that "true leaders....." as my BBM heading for a week, she didnt respond at all, while when i put "i have a secret..." ,a minute later , she texted me, "what secret do you have? anything juicy?"

Start making your own fortune cookies and bringing them to work handing them out to a few people in the office. Always give one to your boss that reads something to the effect of "True leaders acknowledge the talents of others" or "Stop being a prick".

so Phil... you must be able to sing that song well .. i like that song at first, but got tired of listening everyone singing it all the time.

Forget to add... The little one have one of those strong voice. She can sing "let it go" loud enough for make your ear buzzzing... And she don't shout, she sing following the melody.

Now imagind when she shout...
Imagine the sister playing to make her shout...



But definitively, it have plenty of "little moment" that will keep in my memory.
They don't call me papa, they call me papa pilip.
The youger tried to copy the older and it become papapapilip.
