Newbie Introduction
My name is Rick Carmichael, and I’m a professional photographer, shooting both film and digital images for over 35 years.


I had a long-term association with Apple Computer, working for them in the corporate offices in Cupertino California for 10 years with a primary focus on user-interface (UI) and user-experience (UX) technologies. I also worked with Apple for another 6 years as a consultant and third-party developer.


In 1998, I left the company to work as a freelance photographer and web designer for golf courses and property developers in California. And then in 2007, I moved to Bali to form LuxViz.

For 9 years, LuxViz has had a singular vision and focus: promoting indulgent luxury travel. Our main markets are the travel and hospitality industries, and also the real estate/property development industry.


In the 9 years I've been living in Bali, we've shot and professionally edited close to 160,000 photos. Our client list numbers around 160 of the largest real estate companies, property management companies and individual owners of some of Bali and Lombok’s most exclusive villa and hotel properties.


Custom Mobile Apps
An increasingly-requested service we provide is creating and publishing elegant mobile iOS and Android apps - which are used for promoting bookings at the finest hotel and villa properties in this part of the world.

Marketing Tools
We've been collecting market research over the last three years which increasingly shows the powerful advantage of two specific marketing tools: 360˚ panorama tours, and custom mobile apps. This research continues to confirm our focus on creating truly interactive visual content that will be primarily delivered using mobile devices. (I'm happy to provide more specific details of this research on request.)
