  • Do they really check for vaccines now?

I live in the US where there wasn't incredible pressure to get a covid-19 vaccine. I opted not to get it. I read about the heart problems with some of those who took it. I wasn't in a high risk for it. I also tested positive for a very mild case of Corona virus that was lighter than the flu, lighter than a normal cold. Natural immunity is supposed to be worth something. I also don't want to be a GMO. I'm not a tomato. I read there was research that showed the mRNA virus actually changed human liver DNA.

A lot of the policies, IMO, don't seem to be particularly science-based (like having young people take the vaccine, when they are low risk for death from the disease, can still transmit it, and there are risks for taking the vaccine. It also seems like stances on vaccines were polarizing and politicized, at least in my country.

But I would also like to visit Indonesia again. I heard they lifted some of the requirements, but I read on the web that foreigners still need to have shots to get into Indonesia. Is this one of those laws that are just on the books but are ignored, or do they actually check our short records when they check our passports to get into the coutnry?

    (1) I just checked https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/info.xhtml and it states you need to be vaccinated . But I checked also the eVOA Circular Letter from Nov 2022 and it does not require vaccines for eVOA .

    (2) I heard that not everybody is checked , but the airline company probably will check it also .

I am not 100% sure but it looks like this is the rule in force now :

      6. In terms of the RT-PCR confirmation check as referred to in number 3 showed positive results, the foreigner is isolated/treated accordingly with a positive case follow-up mechanism.

        Thanks.

Does anyone know if they actually test for Covid and follow those rules, or did they just forget about them? Does anyone know if you have to show proof of vaccine with your passport when they check your passport?

I am also wondering about private jets and charter flights. If you charter a flight, does anyone check your shot records? I was thinking if any unvaxxed individuals were wealthy and wanting to invest in IKN, these restrictions might deter that, and be a motivation for the government to get rid of them. But then if those people take private jets and don't have to stand in line and get checked win the rest of us, they may be able to get around the requirements that way.

I think that "money is power" all around the world , but as an ex-government employee I can say that some civil servants may not take that in consideration .

And from what I see in the internet , I guess in a near future being vaccinated for Covid-19 may not be a requirement (although other virus can arrive and all this starts again for the new virus) .

From a quick Google's search on Covid-19 for coming foreigners :

          - Singapore , Malaysia , Canada , ... do not require people to be vaccinated

          - Thailand does require either a vaccine certificate or Pro-ATK/RT-PCR test
          ......

A good place to check if on Reddit to read what other people who have traveled there recently say. I can say that I traveled to the Netherlands in September which required you to have a booster but when we landed no one checked anything and basically no one was wearing face masks. Even though on the Netherlands Government website they said you required it no one looked or cared.

Hopefully you can find the information you're looking for?.

Best you can do is to avoid any kind of problem following the local rules and laws as best as you can. I have learnt this lesson by myself.
