Any new KITAP regulations lately?

Greeting to all!....

Does anyone know or heard any new regulations related to the KITAP holder such as renewal processes?

• I heard that the process is much easier now however, very limited information about renewal of expired KITAP while overseas. If I recall, the immigration office gave a grace period due to Covid back then and I even heard rumor that in some areas, they even don't care how far back was your KITAP expiration date and they still can process the renewal (not sure if this is legit information or not though).
• Also, as for the employment, do KITAP holder still need to get sponsor from employer/IMTA? Does anyone know the IMTA process? let say if the sponsor company not familiar with sponsor/obtaining IMTA.

(1) Nothing relevant , as far as I know .

(2) I didn't do any process in the last 8 years , so I don't know . But I guess it is easier now with the online requests .

(3) I think it is not true because what you mentioned is against of what are stated in the Law/Regulations , and the 2011's Law (UU no.6 Tahun 2011) was not revised yet and although Regulation PP no.31 Tahun 2013 was revised in Feb 2021 (by PP no.48 Tahun 2021) , there is no revision regarding KITAP extension .

What I know is that (around 2 years ago) Immigration was issuing a "provisional" KITAP & Re-entry Permit extension (if requested before the KITAP expired to comply with the rules) even with the foreigner still abroad . As usual the new KITAP would be completed when the foreigner returned to Indonesia for photo/fingerprint , but with this "provisional" KITAP & Re-entry Permit the foreigner could return to Indonesia even after the previous KITAP had already expired (but probably still within 1 year of its validity to comply with the rules) .
I guess this exception is not valid anymore as there is no relevant flight's restriction to come to Indonesia .

(4) As far as I know , only the name IMTA does not exist anymore , but basically no relevant change occurred recently . If you refer to Article 61 of UU no.6 Tahun 2011 , the last verbal official reference is from 2015 , as still there is no official Regulation regarding it .
