Changing Sponsor of a Visit Stay Permit

Hi, I'm hoping someone has experience with this because I've had alot of mixed answers. I have a b211a visa that is still valid for 3 more extensions, but I need to change sponsors, since mine has to travel for work. Has someone done this before? I've being told I may need to apply for an entirely new visa, but also have been told there is a form i can use to apply for a new sponsor without changing visas. any advise would be very much appreciated!

(1) The reason for mixed answers is because there is no (as far as I know) official rule about sponsor change for holders of Single Visit Stay Permit . In more than 12 years in this Forum there were few people who succeeded in changing their sponsors . It looks like it all depend on the personal interpretation of the general rule by the Immigration officer that will deal with your case .

(2) In many cases Immigration does not require the sponsor to be present , so you could get the 3 more sponsor letters before his/her travel (besides all the other required documents sponsor's KTP & KK , forms that he/she need to sign , ..) . I always did extensions by myself (but this was more than 10 years ago) .

(3) I never heard of any form for that . If you were allowed to change the sponsor , what the people who did that told us was that , in addition to the normally required documents , the officers required an additional sponsor letter from the present sponsor , stating (more or less) he/she is transferring the sponsorship to the new sponsor (must name the new sponsor) .

Thanks Marcus, I appreciate your detailed answer. I've been renewing my visa in Semarang and they don't allow applications for extensions without the sponsor present, or permit use of visa agents. They also told me I can't change sponsors without applying for a new Visa, but apparently Pati will allow it so I will try there with the documents you mentioned. Thanks again!

If you will request in Pati you probably need to have a sponsor with a Pati KTP (this is what usually Immigration offices require) . And better ask them what exactly they do require for sponsor change (if that letter I told you above , ask for a sample of the letter) .
