How to change passport details

Hi everyone, i need some advice on what's the best way to change passport details.
Specifically, my partner had her first passport issued with a wrong date of birth (to allow her to work overseas). Passport has been renewed in Singapore last year. Soon she's going back home and wanna make things right. We need to correct the date of birth to the original.
Should we state the truth? Or declare it lost and make a new one showing birth certificate as proof of birth? would that be risky?
Did anyone have same issue and had it fixed?
I understand it's a delicate matter, i would really appreciate any advice, even by private message.

(1) I don't know and never saw any similar case in this Forum .

If you are talking about an Indonesian citizen , be informed that it may be considered a crime (see related part of the Law below) . I personally think that it is improbable to be prosecuted due to just changing the birth date , but officers may be tempted to get some extra money from the situation .

(2) I don't know but you may find something in the internet by searching for "tanggal lahir di paspor TKI palsu" , "data paspor TKI salah" , or similar .

Yes, she is indonesian citizen.
She personally knows someone with same issue.. this person when tried to correct the details at immigration (in this case was a fake name too) got rejected and they told her to wait until expiry date (few years away). If this happens to us a big problem, as we are planning to travel and work overseas.
Looking on internet seems like a quite common practice to have date of birth altered for work reason. So it seems unlikely to be sentenced.. but obviously a fine that big is off the table too.
That's what make us worry. we don't know what to do

Andrew, my advice would be, declare the passport lost, go to the police station report iy, get a letter from them. Then just go to the immigration with the required documents of your wife and get a new passport done. Anyway, I do not know which country you'll be working in, but for sure in the UK, this will be an issue getting NI Number, thus just get a new one done mate. All the best...

Thanks, TheGodFather. this seemed the easiest option from the beginning. But i'm afraid in the moment we ask immigration a new passport, showing as proof another document, they will see that date of birth doesn't match with their database. At this moment we decided to go the honest way, we'll tell immigration that the first passport was mistakenly issued with wrong date and we couldn't change it right away because of work visa oversea already approved. Fingers crossed

Im also dealing with the same issue at the moment, and found some man-power agencies doing those stuff, but they only help their clients .

Can I please ask piece of advice if you were able to sort out the situation ? - I was about to try lost-passport situation and apply for a replacement with the birth certificate and family card, where the date of birth is correct in those docs. - Kindly drop me a message if you are not comfortable to reply this.
