• Kitas and after

Hello, selamat pagi,Thanks for the info! I am living in Makassar and not in Bali anymore and maybe, they don't know the new procedure here. In Bali, they should know better as they process many Kitas istri. Here, they do around 300 Kitas per year (mostly companies workers) but very few Kitas istri. I will do the Kitas to Kitap later, as now, I am trying to find a job (waiting and waiting).First, I want to get a driver licence and bank account and also get the documents required to live in Indonesia.Blue book, SKLD and STM not required anymore. I just need to go to the Catatan Sipil to get the SKTT, if I read correctly the previous messages.Have a good day,

• Question for Atlantis or Marcus: To make a new MERP for ITAP are there any new regulations or still possible to get a 2year one? Or even longer? Thks a lot

• ITAP = 2 years MERP.

FTR, beside Marcus and me there are dozens of users which would have been able to answer you. Restricting your questions to "Marcus or Atlantis" may find you having no answer if we miss it.

• ok. Sorry. Will follow your advice.
I thought they changed the law finally. If I have a 5years ITAP why not a 5 year MERP...

The only reason I can think of is they don't want people leaving for long periods of time. Just a guess, of course.

The whole idea of having a visa that doesn't automatically allow you to leave still befuddles me.

• Hi everybody,
the questions I'm making I guess arenot new in this Forum, but I cannot find the proper answers in oldposts.
I will get married with my indonesianfiancè in april.
I will make the papers to obtain theKitas as husband of indonesian spouse.
My questions are about the job, but sofar I have received conflicting answers about it.
I get that is not possible to work fora company with the Kitas unless have a working permit sponsored by anindonesian company, but more than one person tell me that is possibleto be “self-employed” and make freelance works as real estateagent even without the working permit.
I really appreciate if someone of youcould expalin me if this is correct and legal or not.
And it is true or false that if theindonesian spouse setup a CV company, the foreigner husband isallowed to work with her?
I appreciate your help
Thanks

(1) I would suggest you to ask your local Manpower officer .

(2) The same as above .

I thought that maybe for a "work" KITAS/KITAP , the government was worried that people could leave the job early and cause a problem to the employer (anyway a MERP should not be required for the other KITAS/KITAP types) .

Now , with all KITAS/KITAP coming automatically with a MERP , it looks completelly strange to me too .

• Despite digging into this thread a bit, I couldn't find the answer to my question:

Could somebody please roughly specify the costs of getting a spouse-sponsored 1-year KITAS (It'll be sosbud > KITAS by the way)

My agent is quoting me 7.5 juta, just want to know if it's worth the service and saving the hassle (getting a bit tired of doing all of this myself).

Wow... That's a lot. This is from Marcus (here: http://www.livinginindonesiaforum.or...l=1#post439726) :

KITAS (regular/electronic)
6 mo: Rp 450,000/Rp 650,000
1 year: Rp 800,000/Rp 1,000,000
2 years: Rp 1,400,000/Rp 1,600,000

Does not include cost of MERP.

(By the way, if you are stuck on something like this, you might just search for "posts" with "Marcus" as poster and sort for newest posts. You'll find him posting the immigration rules and fees over and over again (tirelessly and kindly). He rarely posts random, chatty, stuff, and I'd take anything he says to the bank.)

• Thanks for the tip.

Yep that's why I'm checking. It's without IMTA but with MERP. I know there's a lot of admin involved, but it seems a bit over the top, right?

Actually, I guess he will spend less than a week on you, total working days. That doesn't take account of two things...
1. He has other clients, so his 1 week should be divided by #??.
2. He will probably have to pay kickbacks to a few people. Not that he should, but I keep hearing that when government employees know someone is making a profit related to "their work", they become filled with the entrepreneurial spirit, and are carried away in a rapture of rupiah.

IMTA is 12million, unless it changed. (I don't need/have one.)

New MERP fees... Search for "Marcus" mentioning "MERP".

• The 1 year merp costs 1,000,000 and a Merp is compulsory now. Though i am not sure if it is possible to get a 6 month one. - cost is less but I can't just remember how much.
so the actual costs to immigration are- KITAS = 1year 800,000IDR
MERP 1year 1,000,000
and biodata (fingerprinting /photosetc) 55,000

so all in all the total for 1 year = 1,855,000..

add to that time/ travel costs and any costs to Pk RT /RW for any running around they do for you & maybe some costs to Catatan Sipil... these are fluid and am unable to define them for others..
my hubby spent about 300,000 getting some documents for us... but we are miles away from some of the offices so don't mind paying someone else to go do the leg-work.

• I can confirm the costs of 1,855,000 for KITAS and MERP valid each 1 year long.
Also, we did it ourself, no agent.
