(a) ... she told me I had to wait til October (30 days before my Kitas expired) before I can start the process. Do you have any suggestions on what I should say ... ?

(b) Has anyone else done their ITAP conversion before the 30 days expiry date?

(a) As [email protected] said above , the only main requirement is to be married for 2 years or more . See Article 60 (2) of the Law below .

(b) I did some 2 months before the KITAS expiry date . I believe most of Kantor Imigrasi prefer requests some 2 to 3 months before the KITAS expiry date . If too near that date and there is any delay , they have to issue a "Postponement" of the KITAS expiry date for free , and obviously they don't like to do that (which , by the way , it happened in my case , even I had submitted the request 2 months before the KITAS expiry date) .

In the first answer , I forgot to say that you need to get a new KTP and new KK for your Indonesian spouse , due to the new address . These new documents will be probably required for the conversion of ITAS to ITAP .

... I think it would just be better to get my wifes originals back and just do everything in Jakarta Selatan even though I am in Lampung..

You will probably have problems by doing that , unless you move back there or you keep that old home too .

By changing address , many documents need to be "revised" (KTP , KK , SKTT , ..) and Kantor Imigrasi must be notified (there are penalties of jail + fine for this last) .

This Monday I going to apply conversion from ITAS to ITAP. Hopefully there is no issue since I have the copy of the directive regarding spouse who have been married 2yrs and above able to convert to ITAP with out futher ITAS(including video by the director general saying it). Hopefully there is not much a hassle. My KITAS will end this September. I also post in this forum that SKLD have been stop by kepolisian under SPRIN/2471/XII//2013 dated 23 Dec 2013. Cheers.

I do not as I have not got that far yet. I believe you should check the member called Arisbatam? here on LII - he has posted recently. He gave an example of such a letter (or two?). Not sure.

I would suggest you to get a sample at your specific Kantor Imigrasi . In Indonesia it is not uncommon each Kantor Imigrasi having small differences in the requirements . They can provide you with all the samples (also for Surat Keterangan Domisili , letter proving you are still married , ..) .

The "Surat Jaminan" we normally use , for KITAS from Sosbud Visa and Sosbud extensions , is a kind of form provided by Kantor Imigrasi (see below) :

This was Marcus's reply to my initial post about VITAS document upload a couple months ago. A couple days ago, I went to KanIm Solo and got their sample Surat Permohonan dari Sponsor along with the list of documents to bring for ITAS.

They list Paspor and Dokim on separate lines. So, does this mean I should input info from the VITAS stamp as the Dokim number?

I didn't put any Dokim number or anything from the VITAS stamp in the passport. it worked for me, so it should works for u too, since we got the KITAS also in Kanim solo/Surakarta.
