(ii) What if the DIJENIM does not mail to Singaraja, Bali, my KITAP before the KITAS expires? Am I then ILLEGAL in this country?

(i) I would send the package to Jakarta , again , by Tiki or JNE (if you didn't make a copy , ask Kantor Imigrasi and Kantor Wilayah to give you another package) . Add a letter asking them to send you a sms , or e-mail , confirming the package's arrival ; and asking them to send the approval letter (Keputusan) directly to the your immigration offices with another sms/e-mail to you (keep another copy with you just in case this second package does not arrive too) .

(ii) Explain your problem to your Kantor Imigrasi . I believe they can make an emergency extension of your present KITAS .

(d) In relation to documents , carry/bring all possible documents you can get easily . Sometimes even impossible documents may be requested , but in this case you need to know a little about the rule , so you can explain to the officer .

(e) Just to clarify that I am not saying they are always the same thing . I asked a statement of my address , and Kelurahan gave me the "Surat Keterangan Serba Guna" twice . The third time , immigration asked the "Surat Keterangan Domisili" and so Kelurahan gave me one too . I used the two for the same purpose and basically they contained the same information .

Still haven't heard from Ibu Detje so I don't know if I can give you her number... I was successful too using the number given by Marcus in a previous post, extension 2521. I called around 8-9 in the morning and that's when Ibu Detje answered herself. I'll email her again.

@atlantis... maybe next time you see the boss for this place you could point out to him that there are many many unemployed people in Indonesia and I am sure they could find a few more staff (even very cheap staff) - maybe even someone to answer the phones...? just a thought [/FONT]

Sorry, have been away for the past few days, health problems...
I haven't heard from Ibu Detje so I feel like I can't give you her email address since it's her private email. Sorry, Dr Michael Beer. But you'll get someone on the line eventually. What I did was dial the phone number and as soon as I heard the "bip bip", I'd hang up and dial again, until I got a recorded voice asking me for the extension number, or a real voice.
Went to Catatan Sipil to get the SKTT - for those who live on Sumatra and think they should go to Stabat, DON'T !!! The boss there knew nothing about getting the SKTT and told us he'd have to go to Medan to ask for the info ! He wrote down the names of the different surat (SKPPS, SKDLN, SKTT). We're to go back there on Tuesday...
POLDA in Medan gave me an STM which will expire on May 13 !!! Is that normal ? Am I supposed to renew it then ???
The lady there asked for 200 000 rupiahs for the SKLD : I said it cost 100 000 for KITAS holders, according to peraturan n°5° tahun 2010 (I knew it's come in handy ! Thanks Marcus !!!). She said I was right but that they needed to send the request to Jakarta hence the extra 100 000 rupiahs. I asked for a receipt, of course they give none ! So I said would only pay 100 000 and she said ok, that her boss would pay for the expenses !!!
And I thought getting the KITAS part was going to be the hardest !!!

All my many STMs had not exactly a "expiry date" but instead a "Departure date" , coincident with the expire date of the visa/visa extension/KITAS .
According Atlantis there is no need to renew unless you change your address . In my case , another reason to renew was that as POLDA requested the STM for the renew of the SKLD , I preferred to submit new STM too .

For info... SKTT cost me 70 000 in Stabat, Sumut.
Do we still need to get an NPWP and go to the tax department ? As Indonesians don't have to pay a tax anymore when they leave the country. (Not talking about the airport tax)

According the "Income Tax Law Explanation" , a taxpayer who receives an income below the exemptions/deductions , is not required to have a NPWP .

In my opinion , the income above mentioned does not include the income from interest of money invested in banks , which is automatically taxed and the tax is withheld by the banks .
