I'm on company sponsored KITAP, been married to an Indonesian woman more than 10 years now, and thinking of converting to wife sponsored KITAP. However, will my IMTA process later on become easier or more complicated (after the conversion)??? Anyone with similar experience?

Gosh that took a lot of typing out! (Google translate does a reasonable, but by no means wonderful, job on the translation of these questions... good enough to get the gist of what is being /going to be asked of you).
Anyway, as far as I was able to determine these are pre-set questions that they take from some do-it-by-numbers-KITAS process program in the computer. So the questions should be fairly consistent.Cicak Magnet

2) For my KITAS 1 to KITAS 2 (which only involves KanIm and KanWil, not Jakarta), I didn't even have to bring my documents from KanIm to KanWil. There was a said new regulation and the KanIm-KanWil-KanIm trip of my documents was handled by them. So I went to KanIm first to ask for a KITAS extension, then came back for an interview with my wife, and then came back to pay with nothing in between.

In my case (KanIm Denpasar, Bali), it was like this:
1) For how long have you been married?
2) How would you define your marriage (harmonious, so-so, etc...) ?
3) Is this your real address? So we could come at this address anytime and see you there right?
4) Do you work here?
And that was it.

I think new thread would be better even if it contains more specific/specialised knowledge- it will help people in the future to find the information added to it and it will help people to help you if they see the thread title...xx

First time I've seen anyone in your position. I'd suggest a new thread too. My limited understanding of UU6/2011 tells me you'll probably have a problem trying to do the sponsor conversion, since it requires that you first possess an ITAS sponsored by your wife before moving to an ITAP, but I could be wrong. If no one can tell you, don't bother to ask KanIm - go directly to DirJenIm or KeMenKumHam - as it's probably such an incredibly rare phenomenon that almost no officials will know what to do. This is just my best guess, though, so make a new thread and good luck!
Namaste, peace & love,

Hi everyone !
Went to Imigrasi last Wednesday, they corrected the mistake in the POA book in no time. Dropped off the forms for the MERP, was told to come back in the afternoon and it'd be ready. Indeed it was. Went to Polda in the meantime, handed in all the docs for the SKLD. I filled a form, they took my finger prints.
Will pick up the letters on Monday, as well as the STM. the actual card will be issued in 2 months from now.
Will then head for Catatan Sipil to ask for the SKTT.
I read in one of Marcus's posts, if I'm not mistaken, that you need to bring a "Surat pengantaran from RT" : what it that ?
I also read you need a "surat sponsor SKPPS" dari suami. Does anyone have a template ?
And there was also a mention of a "surat permohonan untuk SKPPS" dari suami. Does Catatan Sipil give you that one ?
Can anyone tell me if I'm forgetting anything for the SKTT : copy of KITAS, POA book, paspor, STM, marriage certificate, surat keterangan domisili, photos.
Regarding our Kartu keluarga : now that I have a KITAS, do I need to ask for my name to appear on it ?
Thanks !

(b) I would suggest you to understand the objective and procedures , instead of trying to understand the names of documents . This because each city may have its own name for equivalent type of documents . The objective at Catatan Sipil is to be registered there . In my city , I looked for the "Pendaftaran WNA" (Foreigner's Registering) counter .
(b1) So if Catatan Sipil says you need to bring a Surat Pengantar , ask them from which office . In my case Catatan Sipil asked a Surat Keterangan from Kelurahan/Kecamatan , stating my address . So I went to Kantor Kelurahan and they requested a document from Pak RT/RW . I went to Mr. RT and he issued a kind of "form" (in my case , sometimes called Surat Keterangan OR Surat Pengantar) . This "form" need to be signed by Mr. RT and Mr. RW . With that , I went to Kantor Kelurahan , they issued the "Surat Keterangan Serba Guna" (but it can be also "Surat Keterangan Domisili") . This one need to be signed by both Kantor Kelurahan and Kantor Kecamatan .
(b2) In my city there is no SKPPS . Anyway , my Catatan Sipil didn't ask for any surat sponsor .
(b3) Not in my city .
(b4) In my case they don't ask for the POA book , but better bring copies of everything imaginable . As some posters said , sometimes they require some more documents that they forgot to tell .
(c) No , not due to the KITAS . What I heard is that your name is included when you register a child in the KK , otherwise , only when you get a KITAP .

Hi Marcus ! Thanks again for your help !
I think I understand the procedure - having to register at Catatan Sipil - but I just get confused : when I think I already have all the docs necessary to proceed, I read more posts and get new names for docs, thus end up thinking there are more docs to provide. I'm glad to read that the "Surat Keterangan Serba Guna" is also called "Surat Keterangan Domisili", as I already have that one, I gave a copy of it when I asked for the KITAS !
I just wish things were easier and the required docs would have the same name all over the country and wherever you apply you'd need to provide the same docs ! For example, unlike you, I was not asked for the STM when I applied for the SKLD, they said they'd give me that letter when I'd come back to pick up the SKLD doc.
Catatan Sipil is also quite far for us and I'd rather avoid an extra trip because of a missing document ! Hence my numerous questions ! Thank you so much for your advice !
