If you do it politely after continuing to get the run-around from them, I suspect it might work. When I wanted my SKLD last year the police asked for a bribe until I said no and that I'd be going to the complaint department about it. They suddenly lost interest in a bribe.

I though we have to pay 100.000 rp for the SKLD!!! at least that is what I have been paying even when they tried to charge me more, but I really though it was the price for the SKLD and I think I got the information from this forum 2 years ago.

Yes, 100.000 Rp is the price for SKLD for KITAS holders. And 200.000 Rp for KITAP holders.

HELP !!! Urgent !!!
Phoned Imigrasi Jkata this morning : surprisingly enough got a hold of someone after the 7th call only !!! And guess who it was ? Detje ! She said the letter still hadn't arrived, which according to Kantor Pos is not true, but that the server was finally working. She assured me everything would be ready by Wednesday and that then she would send the letter to Imigrasi Medan. I asked her how I was going to bring the letter to KanWil then ? She didn't answer that... I suggested emailing all the docs to her since they seem not to know where my letter is, even though it arrived last Friday in their building... She said that'd be good indeed, it would speed up everything. She was going to sms us the email address... that was 1hour and a half ago...
Now... Would anyone have an email address I could send the docs to ? We live in the jungle and there are no fax machines anywhere around here so email is the only way we have. (I remember Atlantis had given a fax number).
I hope someone can help ! It'd be great if I could email them the docs today. Thanks !

If I send all the docs by post again, they're going to get there on Monday. My sosbud expiring on the 12th, I'll have to renew it on the 5th... That's why I'd need an email. it'd be faster !

Sorry, not everyone is aware of my story, which is long, confusing and boring. To keep it brief, my KITAS was almost expired by the time I reported for my SKLD and such, so the police here waived it. As a result, I only got the letter that shows that the report of my presence was reported to PolRes, but no card was issued from PolDa JaTeng. After I renewed my KITAS, I did it again and had a friend in Semarang help me get the card.

BTW, my friend in Semarang is not getting his KITAP yet, although he's already eligible, because he was told it takes 4-5 months to complete the process and his KITAS will have expired before then, blah blah blah, plus he's going out of the country to visit his sister, so he won't be around to handle it.

I am not sure, I guess what I have send the second time it was a photocopy of all the documents I was sending the first time and it was not a problem, I am not sure if after that they found out my original documents or the photocopies were not a problem but they send me the letters a few days later.

Mari, I am confuse now, do you need to renew your Budaya Social Visa when you are on the process to convert it to a visa ikut suami? I don´t think so but I am not 100% sure about this, please Marcus or Atlantis or anybody who has been converting your budaya to kitas ikut suami istri, could tell us about this?

I don´t remember it from the last time I did it two years ago!!! but I think I didn´t do any renew of the budaya social visa when I was doing the conversion, you don´t have your passport any more because is already inside, so how can you do the renew for the budaya?

did they send the letters to your personal address or to Immigration in your town ? Because the woman on the phone yesterday said she would send the docs to Kantor Imigrasi when ready...
I was told I'd have to extend my sosbud if I hadn't received the letter from Jkta before the end of the 60 days... I do have my passport with me, I guess they'll take it to stamp the ITAs in it once they have received the letter from Jkta.
It's all very confusing to me now. Things had started rather smoothly here on Sumatra, but Jkta seems to play games saying they still haven't received my letter.
Anyway, we finally got Detje's email yesterday afternoon and emailed her all the docs, 23 pages !!! We'll call on Monday again to make sure she got them !!!!!

(1a) Extend a Sosbud Visa is relatively easy and cheap (official fee of Rp250'000 or Rp265'000) .

(1b) Here in Bandung , immigration kept/withheld my passport during the whole process of the ITAS/KITAS , Sosbud Visa extensions , and Exit Re-entry Permit .
Anyway , if immigration says you need to extend the Sosbud , is that a big problem to you ?

Extending the sosbud is a pain in the neck as we live three hours away from Medan and they make us go there 3 times : 1) to drop off the forms, 2) to pay for our visa and drop off the passport and 3) to get the passport back. They don't keep the passports anymore...
Cheap... hum, cheaper than going to Jkta, that's a fact... But considering I handed in all the documents well ahead of time to get the KITAS, I don't see why it's taking them so long. I guess my file is just under a pile of files since I'm not using an agent.
The woman called Detje whom we've been talking to on the phone gave us her private email address, it seems (a Yahoo address). I'll ask her if it is her private email, if not I'll post it with great pleasure !

You are/were just luck , bad_azz . We use the same immigration office (Bandung's KanIm) , and most of my (1st & 2nd) Sosbud extensions was like Mariloustique said , unfortunately (except for the passport issue , which our office keep it since the extension's request) . I did get few in 2 visits too , but had to wait longer for the boss to sign the extension .

You do have to renew your SosBud while processing your KITAS if it is about to expire, at least until Jakarta sends its YES to your KanWil/KanIm. If then your SosBud would expire between the YES and the day your ITAS is stamped, this as far as I know doesn't matter.

I was told "no, don't worry about it". I was given a receipt for the documents and told to go back on Friday (part of me thinks that I will have to do the extension at some point but not sure how as they have my passport.

That was my point as well, how can we do an extension if we don´t have the original passport??? I apply for mi kitas ikut suami two years ago from the budaya social visa and I am no sure 100% because I already forget it but I think I didn´t do any extension of the budaya social visa when I was on the process to apply for the kitas ikut suami.
Now back again to do it once more (aduhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!) and just today I got the passport from doing the first extension of my budaya social visa (I have another 3 more months visas extensions) and right away I given to them again the passport with all the documentation to apply for the kitas ikut suami.

They send it to the Immigration office in my town, Mari is sounds rare you still have your passport, I think I have always given them the passport right away from the first time I given them all the forms!!! in all the visas I got so far, budaya social visa, tourist visa and kitas ikut suami they always asked for my passport when I given them the forms at the beggining I think!!!
