  • Forums not loading on iPhone

    Dear forum administrators,

I seem to have a problem getting into this forum from my iPhone. It used to work perfectly till about 3 days ago. It still works from my iPad and my Macbook, so I don't think this is an OS problem?

Browsing on my iPhone is also fine for all other sites except this.

Can the admin please take a look at this? Thanks.

My iPhone gets a blank page when Safari tries to open the forum. Luckily I have a different browser that can spoof the browser information sent to the server. If the forum thinks you're browsing from anything other than an iPhone, it works fine.

Same with me! What other browser are you using?

It's called "Atomic Web Browser". I think it costs $1.

I see. So the version of vbulletin installed detects the browser, then it automatically reroutes mobile users to the mobile version of the site. The problem is that there's no mobile version of this forum installed. Every time my session expires and I have to log back in from my iphone, I'll get the same problem. That's ok for now, I like to browse while spoofing IE7 anyway (using my Atomic browser), most sites look better AND provide more features that way.

Pretty much, except that there are two mobile versions of the site, but the default one isn't working. The workaround is to manually select the working version. I'm not sure why admin doesn't just disable the broken mobile style or set the working one to be default.

So it points to the non-existent mobile version (instead of the existing one) by default. Since the style selection is only good for the session, every time I got logged out I'll have to start over with the usercp page again.
