Need some advices for my marrige

Im going to be married in the next year and we already started right now with the preparation of all letters we will need.

Yesterday my future mother in law went to the catatan sipil to ask for all the letters a mixed marriage needs.

They told her, we have to bring the following letters:

- Pengantar kepala desa/lurah calon suami/istri model N1 N2 and N4.
- Fotocopy KTP calon suami/istri
- Fotocopy Kartu Keluarga orang tua calon suami istri
- Fotocopy KTP 2 orang saksi
- Surat Gereja
- Fotocopy Akte Kelahiran suami/istri

So now my question...
As I'm not a WNI, I dont own a KTP... Right now i just own a KITAS.
Can the Kepala Desa or the Keluruhan make a surat pengantar N1 N2 N4 for an WNA???

Will I be able to provide all the requested documents as WNA???

Certified birth certificate, legalized and translated.... you need to have this one done at your country... first get your birthcertificate at the place you were born, get it translated by official translator(they will have/get the official stamps) and I than you have to get that paper legalized again. If I'm correct first by officials from your country and next get everything checked/stamped by the Indonesian embassy in your country.

Proof that all taxes are paid... nobody ever asked me.

Structure of the family... you can get at the place you live... later also translated and so on.

Certificate of religion.... Baptist certificate is enough... mine was in Latin-language(no need for translation and legalisation)

I provided a passport, birth certificate, letter of no impediment, and a letter to say i was a muslim and that was about it.

I'm quiet confused now because I already spent hours googling and it seems every catatan sipil ask for other letters.
Are there any other ppls with marriage experience in Indonesia...

Thanks for the info how to legalise the documents. I will go back to Switzerland this Christmas so I can already legalise the Birth Certificate.
Is a translation into english enough or should it be in bahasa Indonesia?

Do yourself a favour and look at doing it here in Bali -here there is an active weding industry that will take all the stress and bullshit out of the marriage process regardless of your religious beliefs - they will give you so much greif in Sumatera (especially the North) because they dont marry foriegners that often whereas here the authorities are totally geared up for it.

You don't necessarily need to get your documents translated and certified in Switzerland, you can probably do it at the Swiss embassy here in Indonesia. I'm French so all my documents were translated here in Indonesia by one of the embassy's certified translators and the documents were also certified by the embassy.

(1) KTP , N1 , N2 , and N4 are certain not for you .
I married at KUA , but I think your future mother-in-law should ask Catatan Sipil about the documents of the foreigner part too , or maybe it is the Church that will require the more broad list of documents .

(2) Remember that the list at the website is generic . Normally each city/church have a slight different list of the required documents , so better ask your specific Catatan Sipil and Church .

(2e) In my case , for example , the Indonesian marriage office accepted my country's identification card (credit card's type , in a foreign language , not in English) instead of the birth certificate , and didn't require any legalization or translation . So better ask .

(2f) You don't need it .

(2g) It is not normally required , but if so , you can request it at the "Kantor Imigrasi" where you are registered .

(2h) Also not normally required , but if so , you can request it at your "Kantor Pajak" .

(2i) Also not normally required . In my country , for example , there is no such document .

(2j) You don't need it .

(2k) I don't know . Better talk to someone at the Church where you intend to marry .

(2l) Yes , I think . My marriage office called it as "Izin Kawin" (Permit to Marry) , from the Embassy . And they ended accepting an alternative document , as my Embassy refused to issue such document .

(3) As I said , you better ask the specific Catatan Sipil/Church where you will get married .

(4) In most cases , a simple sworn translation to English is enough . If translation from English to Indonesian is required , I suggest you to do it in Indonesia . It is cheaper (I paid Rp75'000 per page) .

I already asked a family member who from the dinas kesehatan to ask his catatan sipil friend more exactly what documents they need and if they have to be legalized or not...
So if I already know what exactly they need, I will ask the embassy to legalize it.

The church will also be asked what they need.

Just to check if I already got ripped off by the local gov the first time or not.
Is 250rb for the Surat Keterangan belum pernah kawin from the Keluarahan, Kecematan and Catatan Sipil expensive or not???
But I'm already quiet sure there is a small tambahan because my fiancee couldn't provide her surat baptist because it's lost.

To be sure you will need to check your's city regulation on the subject : PERATURAN BUPATI , or PERATURAN DAERAH , or ..

I would guess that Rp250'000 is not the official price , because , at least in our city , documents are cheap . I didn't find our's city price for the Surat you mentioned , but as example see below ours' city price for a KTP .

From what I saw in our's city Catatan Sipil , there is no list of documents' price available for easy access , and even there was no sign of where to pay for the documents (cashier's counter) . So I imagine that people may become easy victim(s) of overcharging .

For your information, I know of only very few regional regulation which fix a fee for such surat. They are usually free and people usually give anything in between IDR 10.000 to IDR 25.000 for any surat keterangan issued by their kantor lurah. The rare regional regulations which set a fee for it usually set a fee of IDR 5.000 to IDR 10.000 at most.

IDR 250.000? They definitively see the bule in you. They wouldn't dare to ask such amount to a local willing to marry.

Just checking what you mean by mixed marriage, you mention a church so I am assuming that one of you is Christian... As long as you are both aware that Indonesia will not marry mixed faiths.

So if you/your partner is Moslem/ Hindu then you can not get married in Indonesia.

If by mixed you just mean Indonesian citizen & non Indonesian citizen no problem...
