Don't worry about your English, as I can tell you most of us Indonesians speak worse. At least English is one of your official languages, it is not in Indonesia.

        @Injun,
Yes, I do have experience the same as my lady wants me not to speak ANY because I’m look like Acehnese (people in Aceh, Indonesia) n they wonder why I speak English (funny)

Overall I have really beautiful experience n nice memorable moment with my future families.

I see. Just concerned that your wife would be cut off from family and friends and the isolation could make her very unhappy 9and you wouldn't want that). I guess there is an Indonesian community in Dubai so that would help but Karachi would be a different kettle of fish. It's also more conservative than most places in Indonesia and unlikely to have an Indonesian community. There may also be language difficulties? Just some things to keep in mind when you make your plans. Good luck

Firstly, congratulation for your married (very late n sound bit funny hehe).

Well, I do really appreciate n thanks for your kind offer but truly I was looking before a person who can sponsor n taking care of “telex visa” approval as holding Pakistani passport wish to visit Indonesia is requested to get “approval entry” from Immigration head office in Jakarta, Indonesia before traveling but I have hired agent (as I fiancée can’t attend personal interview in Jakarta).

Let’s see now as my SC visa under process and hoping Indonesian embassy would offer entry visa but in case face any difficulty for sure will bother n will look your assistance.

                    Hello friend’s n supporters,

Finally almost everything is DONE as per our plan by grace of GOD (special thanks to GOD n my beloved) as my journey was started April 13, 2012 from Dubai and we (me n my Indonesian Acehness Istri/wife) backed to Dubai on May 12, 2012 (many friends said that one month not enough but we did it ).

Its look like a dream and my Istri (wife) sometime trying to wake up by this dream.
Well, I really don’t know HOW we did but truly now we are together as husband and wife in our home (became sweet now ).

Let me allow sharing my experience as might somebody

I do start my journey with the following required documents.

                    • Affidavit letter from parents that I’m not previously married and authorized to marry with Indonesian lady (this affidavit has to be duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affair Islamabad or Camp office any)
                    • Photocopy of NIC / POC of parents.
                    • Original NIC / POC (overseas) and valid Pakistani passport.
                    • Original Identity card of United Arab Emirates.
                    • NOC for marriage in Indonesia from Pakistan embassy in Jakarta (I don’t have because KUA in Bireuen didn’t ask but mostly KUA asking so suggestion should get).
                    • Recent color pictures
                    • Visit visa for my lady (our plan to back together) as I can’t sponsor her under the category of wife sponsorship due to non availability of legalized documents.

Arrived in Medan airport and this time didn’t face any problem with immigration as my visa under my becoming wife sponsorship and met same immigration officer. Same day we made our pre-wedding pictures (very nice) and next day travel to Aceh (Bireuen). You have to report (arrival in town) within 48 hrs in police station and got paper as new rules implement year 2011.

After reporting to police we (bride and her father) report to village leader in order to get permission / notify of our marriage. Village leader asked to report “teungku imum” (religious leader) and visit KUA (submitted our papers and faced some question related with married life). KUA has given us date (April 27, 2012) for nikah.

We went for nikkah together (village leader and teungku imum) with family and friends (should keep Huq Mehar as agreed with bride father). We got buku nikah immediate after nikah (الحمد لله first step completed) than we arrange our wedding party (May 9, 2012) for thousand peoples (of course big money) and don’t expect too much return from the “envelopes” hehe

We packed our luggages / baggages’s and travel for Dubai, U.A.E.

Looks very happy ending but it is not actually as she’s on visit visa now and need to arrange residence visa under my sponsorship. We are waiting our documents to be legalized in Jakarta (hired one agent n paid bit high 3.5 Juta). It is more than three weeks / 25 days passed but still our documents under process (I’m bit frustrated here) but don’t have any option. What to do???

Guys, please advice if anyone have idea about the legalization procedure and time period?

Someone said, “Never give up on something you really want. However impossible things seem, there's always a way”.

Just one little question, did you get a prenup done before you got married. Just may make a problem if you ever wanted to live in Indonesia.

Congratulations, and I hope you are both very happy together.

@jim69, thanks for your greeting and YES, we are really happy very much.

We didn’t get any except buku nikah and I guess (as my little knowledge) “pre-nup” (register marriage in Indonesia) required only if we perform marriage overseas (outside Indonesia).

Does anyone have experience with this? We did perform very legal (religious and civil) marriage in Indonesia.

As pointed out before, you should have done prenup.
Failure to do so as negated your wifes right to own land or property RTFM

OK but what should we do now as we didn’t go for prenup??? Any substitute??

I have received scan copy of buku nikah after legalization but my agent said, didn’t register with Pakistan embassy in Jakarta due to short time (unacceptable excuses).

Question: Is really important to register or legalize buku nikah from Pakistan embassy in Jakarta?

A pre-nup is essential if you or your wife ever want to own land or property in Indonesia. There is no way of doing this after you are married, soif it was not done then it is too late unfortunatly.

The only way around it is to divorce your wife, create a prenup and marry her again. ( or just never buy property in Indonesia - no issue if you intend to live overseas for the rest of your lives, and there is no inherited property coming your wifes way in the future )

Indonesian authorities do not care about registering your marriage at the Paki Embassey, however Pakistan authorities may do, you need to check with them or another forum ( beyond the scope of anyone on this forum to know I suspect )
