Not all Muslims are terrorists

Over the last several days I have received many emails concerning a Mosque being proposed on the World Trade Center site, a stamp that has Arabic writing that is being purported to be in celebration of Ramadam and protesting a Muslim parade in the US. These are coming from friends of mine who under normal circumstances are rational human beings. They have not ever given me thought that they were racists or were prejudiced against other religions until now. However when it comes to Muslims it would seem that their normal thought process goes right out the window. Somehow in the US it has become acceptable since 9/11 to label everything Muslim as part of a terrorist plot against the United States. I find this thinking to be completely misguided and prejudiced but have no idea how to change it. Basically equating all Muslims with terrorism is like saying because most White Supremicists deem themselves Christian than all Christians are White Supremicists.

Having lived in 2 Muslim dominated countries I have met literally hundreds if not thousands of Muslims and none of them were terrorists or even expressed any level of fanaticism at all.

In the US two of the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution are the freedom of expression and the freedom or religion. Yet in the cases of the Muslims in the US apparently many people believe that these two fundamental rights should not be granted.

I know this is a rambling rant but I had to get this off my chest and wanted to see what other people who have lived in a Islamic country felt about these events occurring in the US. Am I the only one that thinks this is crazy?

PS: The Nazis were also Christian. And in the case of Nazis, White Supremicists and Pedophilic clergy, large numbers of Christians did/do "stand up" to be counted (at great personal risk in many cases). Spot the difference.

Actually, on a slightly different (but serious) tack, I believe the thread title is WRONG!

"All Muslims are not terrorists!" means No Muslims are terrorists.

I think the OP meant to say, "Not all Muslims are terrorists!" (ie Some Muslims are terrorists.)

I apologize for the poor sentence structure in the title but the point is that for some reason in the US it has become socially acceptable to label all Muslims as terrorists and therefore can be discriminated against.

I find this notion to be absurd however as it has become socially acceptable I fear that we are going to go down the path of segregating them into certain areas, having "Muslim Free" areas and adopt the same policies which minorities had to endure in the first part of the 20th century.
