Does anyone know if I can BOOK/RESERVE flights on-line. Then when I arrive at the airport I can pay cash, or do the airlines want online payment by credit card?

Depends on the company. Be more precise to get a precise answer... if available.

Ok,,, I was thinking about AdamAir, Merpati, the last time I flew with them my wife had reserved seats for us, she was in Indonesia at the time. I arrived at the airport and we just walked up to the Adam Air desk and paid for our flights.

I think we will just get her family to arrange flights for us, Bali - Jakarta etc.

Do they still have planes ?
I would advice you more to stick to Lion Air or Garuda. Concerning Lion you can book online, pay online by credit car, at a nearby ATM with a Kartu Debet issued by a few indonesian banks or in any Lion Air Office. However their time limit varies from 2 hours to a couple of days for payment before that the reservation get cancelled. Lion Air has ordered 178 Boeing 737-900ER (the latest generation) and already received 10 of them.
To avoid problems caused by constant surbooking practises, the long time limit allowed is less and less common on domestic flights by most of the companies.

Adam Air is dead - the authorities pulled their AOC last June.I agree with atlantis - Lion and Garuda is definitely the best local airlines but Garuda doesn't have online booking.

And AirAsia is good if you're not in a rush - they're famous for their delayed flights, lol.

Adam Air? They are dead already. You could try airasia, lion air, mandala air. Garuda..hm.. it very hard to say about their website.. always unconnected. I think Garuda doesn't have on line booking fasility.

BTW, here is a link which gives informations on worldwide airlines and their fleet. Worth to have a quick look before booking a flight on one of our very dodgy Indo airlines.

Yes, you can book Lion air or Mandala online and pay at nearest office or airport.

Not sure about air asia. www.airasia.com they are bloody cheap but I think u have to call them or book and pay online.

my advise, fly with Garuda, Mandala or Lion. Mandala and Lion fly new wings and you can book online and pay with CC.
