Does anybody know how to get a cheap ticket?

I am afraid that you won't find cheap direct flight to Shenzen from Jakarta. However, if you want to make it cheap, and are ready to connect via Singapore, Bangkok or Manilla you should check on the following links of low cost carriers.
Lion Air (from JKT to SIN)
Air Asia (from JKT to BKK and from BKK to SZX)
Tiger Airways (from SIN to SZX)
Jet Star (from JKT or SIN to HKG)
Cebu Air Pacific (from JKT to SIN and from SIN to HKG), not the best of all.

Bear in mind that these companies are low cost, with limited bagage facilities freely allowed (usually 15kg) and tough cancellation or modicication conditions.

Which city are you going to? I fly all the time I get the cheapest round trips from Shenzhen Airlines, but you can look when you buy your ticket choose some airlines are cheaper depending on were you wanna go but yeah Shenzhen Airlines for me usually.

is shenzhen the one that near to hongkong border? if it is, you can take flight to Hongkong and enter shenzhen by ferry, only pay additional visa on arrival 125 HKG$. unless youre not a typical backpacking kinda guy, taking a direct flight is compulsory. i have never experienced with direct flight, however heard that viva macau may help you. nice trip ya..
