Weather conditions at Thousand Islands

Since my kids are still out from school, I want to plan a trip to Thousand Island this week but my wife said the weather is unstable as the water is very choppy with high waves. It has been very windy in South Jakarta lately. Also, it is raining season and not a good idea to travel to Thousand Island.

Anyone who recently vacation at Thousand Island can confirm the above would be greatful. Thanks in advance.

At the risk of being wrong, I'd say rubbish, 1000 island would be fine! I've often foudn that to be the case

at the risk of being wrong there was a picture in todays local paper in tangerang showing choppy seas and a near black sky

Although weather forecasters are notoriously inept, it would seem to me that a better source of information than the Forum would be the 5-day forecast. If its good go, if not, seek alternate recreation spots.

Yes, but I have traveled to the thousands islands at this time of year when the papers are predicting storms, 5 metre waves etc. Tangerang gets the rain and the islands generally seem to miss most of it. (they do get a little rain also obviously, but not the same time as Jakata).

sorry i meant to add the picture was taken on one of the islands. not many choppy seas in downtown tangerang

To all the people whom replied to my enquiry, many thanks. It appears that the weather at Thousand Islands is unpredictable thsi time of the year. I will wait until March to visit Thousand Islands.
