Hey, ladies! I've got a question for you... I brought all of my favorite 'accessories' with me from America, but my very favorite one requires a plug-in, not batteries. Even with an adapter, it's not working correctly. The husband and I have been making due with what we've got, but I'd *really* like to purchase a replacement 'massager' sometime in the VERY near future, ifyoucatchmydrift.So, is there any place in Jakarta that might sell such items? I'm in Cengkareng/West Jakarta, but I can go anywhere... Within reason, of course. Thanks so much!

I have no experience of the item in question but I can tell the OP that, if it's from the US, it will run on 110v not the 220v we have here. Unless it has a multi voltage switch, you need a transformer to run it. That or it will go crackers before burning out and give you the best couple of minutes of your life. Once it has been plugged in without an adaptor, the chances are it's buggered. If you have only used it at the correct voltage it may just have worn out due to overuse. I'm unsure but I think they are illegal here but I have seen them called massage machines in some Chinese owned shops.

The assumption that "Ladies", Gratilla, are somehow different in their sensibilities is a rather quaint Victorian notion. Some may be inexperienced, but few are shocked by straight forward language. Even if they were shock-able at the outset of their foray into Forum land, after taking in a few of Fred's posts, I suspect that no longer applies.
