Hi Clifford72, I know Indian curries but banana leaf? What is this? I know Indonesian cooking use it to wrap fish or cake when they steamed them. Good luck! hope you'll find a good one because my husband love their roti dish which I think only Indian restaurant in Brunei who can make a good ones.

South Indians use banana leaf. Mesoamerican cusine uses banana leaf also. It's part of many traditional tropical cuisines...

You may have better luck finding Indian curries on banana leaf at a Malaysian restaurant. After all, Malaysia is truly Asia (maling Asia, some Indonesians would say...)!

I lived in Malaysia for 17 years and never undersood why anybody would want to eat their food of a banana leaf using there hand. It is th 21st century knives, forks and spoons have been around for a long time.

And please nobody try and tell me it tastes better when eatne off the banana leaf and when using your hand.

No way what you can taste is the lead deposits and other pollutants from the atmosphere as they only collect the banana leaves form the side of the road.

I have this same argument with my Malaysian wife ALL OF THE TIME.

Never eaten of a banana leaf and never used my hand to eat curry and rice. French fries yes but please not curry and rice

Indonesians will bathe three times per day. Yet they will insist on eating with their hand. They will go through great lengths to perform customs and traditions that show their refinement and grace. Yet they eat with their hand...

Well, safe your time and stop arguing with your wife. You two just to have agree to disagree. Tell your wife tho' to wash the banana leaves and her hands very well before and after. I love it myself although doing it rarely this day.
