speedy wifi....booster?

I'm using a Speedy ADSL modem and wifi in Bali........ brand ZTE ZXV10 W300S.
When it was installed I asked if the wifi would work throughout my 2 level villa and was advised that I'd need to buy another modem. As I did receive wifi where I needed I didn't bother.

This week we had a friend stay in a guest bedroom who is a bit tech savvy and uses smartphone/tablet all the time but could not connect in the guest bedroom. He said I just need a booster...but he has gone and I now want to know what is a booster; where can I buy in Bali and is it a simple DIY connecton or would I need to get the people from Speedy?

Any advice please?

Booster (WiFi repeater) could improve WiFi radio signal in hard to reach areas of the house. It amplifies and retransmits all radio signal (within WiFi frequency range) it receives. You'll have to find a good spot for it, somewhere between your router and target destination, so it can still get decent signal from both locations. It's not my preferred solution, however.

You could also pull an Ethernet cable from your bedroom router to remote area of your house and connect a cheap WiFi router/access point to the other side.

If pulling a cable is not an option, you could buy and use a pair of PowerLine adapters instead of the cable.
