Not to make light of the syndrome, but it would seem like you spend three days getting used to being comfortable, one week in good condition, and a few more days looking forward to hell again.

You'd think a doctor could improve that outlook slightly somehow.
Normally PMS starts 5 days to a week before the menstrual starts, this is when the bloating, cramping, headaches and overall pain starts. It'll get worse until day 3 of a menstrual cycle. The remaining days are not too bad, although a normal girl still wont have as much patient as non menstrual days.

No matter what - PMS is not a myth, I for one experience it every single month. And PMS can not be compared with a silly hang over!

My PMS normally involves lower back ache, swollen breasts and sometimes migraine. But I don't ever recall turning feral due to it. Neither have I ever been told I've gotten moody due to PMS. I suppose hormone does affect people differently and I might be one of the lucky ones out.

What I do notice, however, is the lack of period and all the physical pain which would normally come with PMS whilst I'm on birth control. It's pretty darn fantastic.

Advice for Married Men during PMS :
    - Try to always be home for dinner, if gonna be late don't forget to let the people at home know (will appreciate it if the message comes before the cooking start).
    - Please check your weekly schedule to match with your wife schedule, especially when you need to share car and driver.
    - During PMS be prepared for emergency phone call related with subject of house staffs, a group of horrible women that you don't even know who they are or shopping spree problem.
    - It will always something wrong with your tie.

Unprepared for these will result to terrible headache for a week or so.
