Default Looking for a live in maid to work in Bali

If anybody knows of a maid who would be interested in taking a position in Bali can they let me know? We have two children 2.5 years old and 1.5 years old. Duties will mostly be cooking and basically handling the kitchen including food shopping. English required. Main thing is they must be willing to be live in. Previous experience with expat necessary. Please PM me if anyone in Bali or another city is interested. Good salary and will be treated well. Good living conditions.

take my advice - get a balinese maid. When we first moved to Bali we had a constant stream of maids and nannies from Jawa, there are plenty of agencies in Bali that supply these young girls and they were nothing but trouble, always had issues and a constant need to go pulang kampung because of their kids and families.

In the end my wife got a balinese woman on recommendation from a friends maid and she has been with us years now. She is a godsend, suggest you do the same there are plenty of good balinese maids that need a good job

I think it's irresponsible to recommend this way. You can find good and bad from every part of Indonesia. Personally I've had many more problems with local Balinese staff than others. Problems as regularly taking time off for ceremonies, dishonesty, and theft, to name a few.

It sounds to me you were lucky to find a good house maid, but that cannot be attributed to her just being Balinese. It's more sensible to say that she of high character and has a good work moral, and that's why you are very pleased with her.

The problem with agencies is they are in it for the money, and the more maids they have to hire out the better. Generally they have uneducated kids from a background of poverty that have no experience working in an environment that's so foreign to their own. Cleanliness, being on time, just simple common sense are all not known to them. The agency will often tell blatant lies that the maid has had training or experience. I think it is always best to work from a recommendation of a friend, or perhaps other staff member, but as always there is never a guarantee.

I'm just curious Tina, about why you want this job? You mentioned in a previous post that you have a bachelor degree in tourism and have experience in marketing in jakarta. Is it higher salary being a maid in Bali rather than working in the tourism or marketing field? Hope you don't mind me asking.
