Greetings from a newly-returned Indonesian ex-expat

Hello all,

I've just returned to Jakarta a few months ago from extended sojourns in Singapore, the UK, US and then Germany, and find myself, as an Indonesian who's spent more of my life out of the country than in, straddling both worlds and missing the interactions with fellow expats.

I look forward to interacting with others here, both expats and locals, and discovering anew this interesting (and at times, maddening, especially the traffic!) city. Talk to you all soon!

I feel your pain -- I've had 20-min commutes turned into 90 minutes of bumper-to-bumper traffic with impatient drivers cutting each other off and making the situation worse! That was before Eid, and also when the Trans-Jakarta route 12 busway construction was at its worst though.

aha love how you said missing the interactions.. I spent a couple of months in Indonesia, just after 6 years of being away, and I felt the exact same way. Thank God masih rezeki brought me elsewhere
