Question: Manpower's definition of "S2: Pendidikan"

I am investigating options for increasing my educational credentials as a preemptive measure against future changes in Manpower policies. Specifically, I want to earn a Manpower-recognized Master of Education degree. In my research, I have found several options for obtaining such a degree from universities in the US, UK and Australia. Currently, the most promising option appears to be from the American College of Education. They are regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and are recognized by multiple state-level education departments in the US.

So my question is this: does Manpower see all Master of Education programs within a given university as the same? Are some of them looked upon as irrelevant to teaching in the classroom (and thus of no value for the purposes of working in Indonesia)? The program which most interests me personally would be the M.Ed. - Educational Technology, but if Manpower is not going to consider that valid, then I would be better off taking a M.Ed. - Curriculum & Instruction.

Does anybody have advice on whether to pursue this type of degree? I really would like to further my education to better be able to serve my students. However, I do not want to spend the time and money earning a degree, only to then learn that Manpower does not recognize it.

S2 is equivalent to a post graduate degree. So, a Master of Education is OK.

S2 should be a graduate degree right? Post grad is doctorate.

Is it an onsite degree or distant learning? If it's the latter, you may wish to probe a bit further as I've heard (unconfirmed) reports that degrees (not sure if just BA or MA too) earned by distance are now being rejected, or, at the least, being closely scrutinised. I'd hazard a guess that this is because people are submitting fake distant degrees as obviously a teacher looking to renew their KITAS can't suddenly produce a certificate which claims to have been earned onsite when they've blatantly been in Indonesia for the last year or two.

Then again, it could be complete bunkum - who knows? But, as you say, you need to be totally clear before shelling out the cash, time and effort on an MA. Perhaps you could contact a couple of schools and see whether they think they could procure a work permit with that particular MA in Education?
