Selling Online Services in Indonesia from Hong-Kong company ?

Hello,

This is my first post on the forum

I'd like to create an internet company in Hong Kong that will sell online services in Indonesia. I thought to create an RO (Representative Office) in Indonesia in order to be sponsored to get a working permit.

If I open a RO, will I be able to sell services to Indonesian companies and to invoice via my HK office? Is it the best way to sell online services in Indonesia?

(1) I don't know much but I guess a Representative Office cannot sponsor you for a work permit .

I just read

A Representative Office allows you a legal presence in Indonesia, but it is not allowed to undertake business transactions or receive sales payments in Indonesia.

To open a foreign representative office in Indonesia, the firm must appoint a representative, who may be either an Indonesian national or an expatriate.

If the representative can be an expatriate (or foreigner), I guess I'll be able to get a visa?

It's written I cannot receive sales payment in Indonesia but maybe I can invoice via my HK office and receive payments there?

Hi df,

as far as i know you cannot generate any income if you established a representative company in here. The way my first rep office works is the invoice is under the name of overseas company.

Rep office scope is only to supervise, research, etc.

I would like to open the RO to promote my services but all the services will be provided online.

Just for information regarding the permit, I just found this

Nope, i think that you will be ok. Yeah you can also obtain work permit too.
