Generally saltwater aquarium is harder to set up and maintain than freahwater. I would recommend salt water only to people who are rich, idle and insane.

It is a global saying. The point is; there are so many costs and efforts involved in maintaining a salt water aquarium, that the initial excitement of getting one, is quickly replaced by frustration. So when people get rid of the aquarium, there is relief.
