Default How to keep sea fishes in an aquarium

I have one aquarium, one skimmer, one filter, a few of sea fishes at my house, but they can't survive for a long time, only for one or two weeks. I buy sea water at a shop on kartini street, central jakarta.
Anyone can advice me about how to keep sea fishes in an aquarium, because i am a newbie.
    Thanks in advance

Many years ago I switched from sweet to saltwater. Wasn't a big success; the big problem was filtration and the huge circulation needed (for adding oxygen). You already have a protein skimmer so that's covered. Also, light intensity is important. And esp. sea fishes need to be able to hide (some can die because of the stress).

There must be forums specialized on saltwater aquariums, right?

There's lot of information in the net for the sea water aquarium; you'll need good filtration, aerator, lighting and cooling system. The easy way, go to Jl. Blora, they can provide you with the complete system - usualy they modify regular air-con to maintain the water temperature.
It is also practical to have maintenance contract - they will check the water quality, top-up with sea water and replace the coral and fish, supply food and put vitamin. It's not cheap.

So, my suggestion, let all the fish and coral remain at their habitat.

lovely! This is actually my husband's current hobby, he is currently 'growing' one himself. Started from cultivating his own live rock etc, he has test kits and all the accoutrements. Seem like a lot of work though and quite pricey. I happen to have a video clip of his first fishtank , it was 29 gallon biocube. He has a new one now, a 90 gallon. I LET him upgraded about eight months ago. It's doing great actually, we have an two anenomies that we have had for about 6 months. They are happy and growing Later when I have the time, I will make a videoclip of his new tank.

It's very amazing and interesting, your husband really likes sea fishes too.

A forum that I used to read a lot is

    http://www.aquariumlife.com.au/forum.php

    it has salt water section.

Generally saltwater aquarium is harder to set up and maintain than freahwater. I would recommend salt water only to people who are rich, idle and insane.

It's like a boat, right? The two happiest days in the life of an owner are when he buys one and when he sells it again...
