Hopefully not, but just watch out and be careful, everyone.

Well, violence can go both ways.

Imam beaten up by 'poorly veiled woman'
    24/09/12 - 17u35 Bron: Mehr

It was not a good day for Hojatoleslam Ali Beheshti when in the streets of the Iranian city Shahmirzad he pointed out that a woman did not follow the rules of proper veiling. The lady did not accept the remark and gave the spiritual leader a beating he will never forget. The imam had to stay in the hospital for three days.

"Cover yourself as it should," Beheshti scolded the woman on his way to his mosque. "Cover your eyes, you," the lady snapped at him. When the imam repeated his command, the woman lost control. She yelled and cursed Beheshti, pushed him to the ground and started hitting him with all her power.

The imam had to be hospitalized. Only after three days he could go home. "It was my religious duty to do what I did," he said afterwards. "I must recommend the good and judge the bad and will continue to do so, despite this not so pleasant experience."

This is so typical of this kind of islamic mind set - why does this head banger assume that he has the right to scold any woman on the street ??? what business is it of his ??? how would you feel (as a woman) if this idiot scolded you in public as if you were a lesser human than him ?? Recommend the good and judge the bad ??? according to whos ideals ?? his ?? his interpretation of islam ??

I laughed my arse off when i read this, serves him right, the woman certainly struck a blow for womens rights - literally. I can just imagine the line up in the police station "please sir pick out the woman that you think assaulted you" as he looks on 6 black veiled women in a row. Classic.

Of course it can. Too bad however that the article doesn't say about the outcome of the woman and nothing seems to be available online about her. I also note that no independant source can confirm the veracity of the story. We don't have the version of the woman either. We recently have a notorious case in Pakistan where a cleric made up a whole story to serve what he thought were religious interests. Thus, I would take the story with a pinch of salt.

Yep, this is very easy to fabricate. And there seems to be no English version of the original and the pictures only appear in some European newspapers and on the right wing Gateway Pundit website.

ضرب و شتم روحانی آمر به معروف توسط دختران بدحجاب

Perhaps Mina_H can translate for us?

It seems to have been triggered by Mehr and then adopted by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Since both of them are not known for their objectivity, it seems both parties try to take advantage of the story: And solicit a stricter dress code control on women and blame the intolerance of the muslim community.

I remember this hoax; a tv consumer program called a couple of newspapers. The person stated he was attacked by birds. A couple of days later similar stories appeared in three (rather serious) papers describing the event. One even with a picture of a guy being attacked. Welcome to the age of communication.

Producer of anti-Islam film arrested, appears in court for bail hearing - CNN.com

Let's see if the other side of this crisis responds in a similar way arresting and bringing to justice the criminals who committed the assassinations.

Doubt it. Many appear content that their bodies of belief contains prescriptions, rules and injunctions from everything to cleaning one's bokong to the cardinal direction that an animal for slaughter ought to face, but apparently enshrining in law and creating institutions and processes for enforcing the core values such as justice, equality before the law, respect for the rights of minorities and women has fallen by the wayside. Not for nothing have the countries of the West been called the most Islamic in today's world because it is they, not the countries with Muslim majority populations, that have more effectively and consistently enshrined in law and enforced most of Islam's core values of justice and tolerance. As a brief example, my wife can better practice her religion as she sees it and interprets it, not in Muslim majority Indonesia, but rather in the so-called decadent and degenerate Great Satan.

I hear you. I just hope this crisis does not escalate into another international conflict. We all agree by now the so-called movie was just an excuse to perpetrate the attack that ended in the assassination of US diplomats on embassy grounds, that is on US soil. US has every right to demand now the apprehension and deportation of the assassins. I see a difficult time in an election year for the current administration if the Libyan government does not collaborate.
