@ Sweetmaria: So this Dewi also knows how to dye hair and especially western hair?
Maybe next month I'll go to Jakarta, so maybe I can look there too? So what are the prices and the good salons there?
Sorry. I don't bother to read the whole thread but if OP is in Yogya, go to Johny Andrean Salon in Ambarukmo mall. There's a senior female hairdresser by the name Dewi (if I'm not mistaken) she's from Muntilan/Magelang.
She's the best hairdresser my sister and I had ever. Now that we've moved to Jakarta, everytime I could go to Yogya, I would try to make time to visit her and get my haircut.

@bakpia, sorry. Just read your response here. I don't know. But she will be honest to you whether she can do it or not.
For prices of good salon... well, you should ask Puspawarna or maybe travellingchez. Since I left Yogya, I haven't found the one hairdresser that I can trust to cut my hair perfectly. I do have one that can do magic with my hair when it comes styling, but not the cutting one yet.
@bakpia, it depends on how picky you are with your styling. i could recomend some hair dressers that i know.., but in order to get them you might have to book them ahead. since their daily waiting list sometimes is crazy .. my suggestion is to go on weekdays a bit earlier.around 10 AM except if the hair dressers is having some local stars make up .. if you want, pm me
dont judge a book by its movie.
Surprising that a hair question can generate 15 posts in short order. On second thought, maybe not.
If your ever in Bali come see me at Glo day spa in seminyak and Sanur. I am an Australian hair dresser. www.glo-day-spa.com for reservations.
I have a lot of clients fly from java just to have their hair donea bit extreme I know but worth it for peace of mind and a mini holiday
