Optik Timur or Optik Melawai is good.
Was disappointed with the frame quality from Optik Tunggal.
hi folks,
I need new lenses for my spectacles, and I wish to know if there is any optician you would recommend as particularly good.
I need graduated lenses, and form what I understand they must suit the indication of my optometrist, which means made specifically for me.
would you recommend a professional and reliable optician ?
I live in Jakarta Selatan, but willing to go to other areas in town if it is worth it -
thanks in advance, and hope this is useful for other people that need glasses![]()

Selatan... I'm sure you can find any Optik in Pondok Indah Mall or Plaza Senayan. As for which Optik, 15 years of wearing glasses/lenses and I've never noticed any difference between any of them.

I had my glasses made according to specifications /prescription of my oculist. Went to Optik Melawai in Kemang close to the Informa store. Had the glasses checked by my oculist on a recent trip to Germany and voila all is just fine. I don't think they are any different from what you're used to back home.
Well, maybe price-wise... I found mine to be way cheeper here.
Most top ranks optical shops: Melawai, Tunggal, Kasoem; those are easily to find in big malls. Yes, melawai in opposite starbucks kemang is also good. For lenses, i still fans to Essilor.
We went to Focus Optics at Mangga Dua..they were awesome, ready in an hour and all seem genuine and good so far...
Essilor is a lenses brand. You just ask this product in optic. btw, Optic Seis also one of those big 5 optical shops. There are many smaller optical shops with cheaper price also at ITC malls, like Ambassador (ITC Kuningan), Mangga Dua; even u can ask for discount here. good luck!![]()

thank you all ! I have visited a few of the listed shops, and none of them said they have the technology to make lenses like the ones I have - pls dont ask details, I do not have a clue -
apparently the technology is available in Singapore, India, Japan. Or indeed, back in Europe.
Hopefully Indonesia shall get such technology soon.
