Hi Guys Still finding my feet in Indonesia, I need to make some more contacts. Could someone give me a list of Ex Pat magazines for Jakarta and Bogor.

Hmm, not so sure. Had a browse once and although it looked good, the contents were rather meager: The news was very global (codeshare Etihad and Alitalia?) and not specific for living in Jakarta, not even Indonesia. The 'update on the capital Jakarta' section had articles covering Ubud and Hong Kong (?!). Also, there was nothing listed underneath 'events' (then it's better to use www.whatsnewjakarta.com or read the Jakarta Post). Nor did it have a lot of info on nightlife (www.jakarta100bars.com). For housing listings you'd better look at huge collections in www.rumah.com or www.rumah123.com. And for a listing of international schools there is http://www.expat.or.id/orgs/schools.html.

There is (or was - the edition I have in front of me is from 2010, but hopefully they are still in business) a Siamese twin of a magazine called "Kabar" on one side and "Expat Indonesia" on the other (both sides are in English, despite the name "Kabar"). Interested persons are directed to send an e-mail to: [email protected] If that doesn't work (who knows, maybe Ed has moved on but the magazine remains) send me a PM and I'll try to find a different way to track them down.
