I am an expat living in Semarang, Central Java and am looking for 2 cars to buy as follows;

The first is a BMW E39 2002 to 2004 model 530i with less than 130,000 klms and preferraqble with service history. If not available we will buy a 2003 to 2005 BMW E46 325i series 2 update as above.

The 2nd vehicle is a Chevrolet Blazer from 2003 and up, prefer LT and kilometres as above.

You want a beemer in Central Java? Not many around. I've never even seen one in Java. For at least 2 reasons I wouldn't buy one. First, no one will be able to service it and if you need parts it will take forever to get them, and second because the roads aren't very good so it's a waste of a good car to drive it on those roads.

If you really must have one though, you might need to go buy it in Thailand or Malaysia and ship it over.

I see BMWs all the time. In Bali, Jakarta, Bandung, you name it. There is a BMW dealership on Hayum Wuruk, near my favorite Chinese Retaurant, Furama. You must get out a bit more.

Indonesia is no Cambodia; there are BMWs everywhere all around Java. Problem for more expensive cars is probably more on the aftersales service, especially because you live in Semarang. I mean, it takes a week or two to get your parts replaced here in Jakarta. I can only imagine the situation in Semarang, where parts would be shipped from Jakarta/Surabaya. CMIIW.

Chances are when you get the car, you'll get in touch with him/the club eventually, for spareparts info. :-P
