You can find below , relevant information about the 2 companies , and some others . There may be other TV providers , like cable TV providers , for example . In my city , I found a cable TV provider which offers cheaper cost/benefit service :

    http://www.top-tv.co.id/
    http://www.okevision.tv/
(these 3 are from a single company)

They have many of the same channels, with some exceptions, example both have ESPN and Star sports but you can only get EPL on Indovison not Telkomvision, however Telkomvision has setanta which shows a lot of Rugby. One noticeable difference is you can run more than one tv off of Telkomvision however as Indovision requires a decoder you don't have that option.

Same here. With two Indovision receiver, with two different packages including films and sports, my bill doesn't reach IDR 300.000 per month (50% discount knocked off the second paket to the condition that it is same name & same address as the first receiver).

    Let me see:

    1. First receiver: Paket Venus (Animax, AXN,VFOX, FOXCrime, STAR World,Universal Channel, Al Jazeera English, BBC World News, Channel NewsAsia, CNBC Asia, CNN International, Euronews, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Nickelodeon, Austalia Network, National Geographic Channel, The History Channel, MNC Sports 1 & 2, all the indonesian channels and a few more unnamed channel of lesser importance to me) + paket Cinema 1 (HBO, HBO family, HBO Signature & HBO Hits) cost IDR 149.000+IDR 70.000 which means a total of IDR 219.000

    2. Second receiver with Paket Mars which includes pretty much the same than Paket Venus, with a few channel less but with the addition of Star Sport, Eurosport, TV5 Monde (french), DW (german), Discovery channel and Bloomberg costs IDR 149.000 per month, but as a second receiver (same name, same address), Indovision cuts 50% discount on it, meaning that it would cost you IDR 74.500

... 1+2 =... IDR 293.500 and would give you much more channel that one really needs, IMHO.
