Default Bali Henna 'Tattoo' scars little boy

Here's a story that just popped up in the Brisbane Courier Mail today about a little boy's henna tattoo gone wrong in Bali:

Unfortunate! I often wonder about a parents state of mind with stories like this? A simple Googling of "henna tattoo Bali" would show several danger stories about this.

    Oh, poor kid.

Thanks for posting it, Mas. I will remember not to have my girls and my self this temporary tattoo when we are there.

Who here would actualy allow there 5 year old to get one of these tattoos. I know I would not.

I have seen the marks from one of these tattoos still on the skin 12 months later. There was no inflammation like is shown in the article.

Unfortunately, people will naively assume all Henna is safe and temporary and thus see no harm in letting children have a henna tat... Apparently there is a difference between safe Henna and 'Black Henna':

Our friends young kid (14 years old) had an allergic reaction to these type of tattoos, the so called "henna" that they use is a dodgy mix at the best of times. Please exercise common sense when thinking about these types of "tattoo"
