Electric mosquito repellent health issues?

I had some personal experience with acoustic repellants. My husband and I were in one of the Thousand Islands where we got swarmed by mosquitoes in the room while trying to sleep at night. We did not have any repellents or mosquito coils then. Out of desperation, we searched itunes store and found one. We downloaded and tried it.

We had an hour of peace. The mosquitoes were gone. But after an hr, we realized that the number of mosquitoes that are attacking us has dropped but these mosquitoes that were attacking are the bigger ones. We hid under the sheets despite the heat as air-con was not working. I left the island with more than 50 bites!!

Just recently, I tried out the blue UV light zapping machines bought from Ace. I was having mosquito problems in my house. However, it's of no use. Stupidly, I went to do some search on these machines after getting one. I read that mosquitoes prefer blood to UV light. True enough, it doesn't work.

The only thing that works now is switching on the air-con.

Thanks for sharing. We're still using HIT, simply because it works (in smaller rooms 12-15 m2 anyway). Mozzie season is coming up, so thinking of getting a mosquito net for the bedroom.
