Don't like Jakarta at all. It is a wilderness, the city will degrade your humanity without you realize.
I always try to minimize staying in jakarta during my mudik - not more than 10 days in a year just to visit big family and check home - in fact not really in jakarta.

I can understand the sentiment. Everyone is different in what makes them feel alive, and I appreciate a busy city is not to everyone's taste. For now, I'll enjoy the huge boost of positivity I feel here.

Thanks Hendry. I agree that there is a positive slant to the traffic too! It's all about perception, and you can choose to see things negatively or positively.

    Thanks for the wonderful welcome.

The only thing about traffic that makes me feel alive is the adrenaline rush you get from avoiding motorcyclists and small furry animals...

Hahaha, I'm in London right now and I'm about to relocate to Indonesia in November - it's so true. Ian, if you're up for meeting up and helping out a fellow Brit to see Indonesia, I'd really like it if you got in touch. I hope you're settling in well matey. Cheers.
