There main concern is that your girl friend has no intention in staying in U.K .and claiming money from the goverment , so as long as you can prove these things they should be no problem with your application.
Read other threads as apparently the applications are taken a long time.
I will second this opinion. Try to think about various reasons and evidence to convince UKBA that she will not intend to stay in the UK is the key issue on Visa approval.

you have no right of appeal, unless on grounds of racial discrimination.
    You just have to re-apply.

Jim has the rules changed in the last few years ( have not read them recently ) but I carried out the appeal procedure 3-4 years, which eventually ended up at the appeal board in the U.K. We were succesful with our arguement with the judge and the visa was granted. The process wa around 6 months and as the appeal is free it was worth it.

And the rules have definitely changed in the past 12-18 months. You have no right of appeal, unless on grounds of racial discrimination or something similar to that effect.

The only other option is to unfortunately re-apply.

    Thanks guys.

I'm 'finally' going to open an Indonesian bank account next week in town. Do you think it would help our chances if I made it a joint account with my girlfriend too?

    Thanks again.

Yeah applying UK visa.. I'd been there.. I have stable job and all, married to a British guy for 5 years, we have 2 kids and both have British passport.. So I applied for tourist visa for the first time and they denied me.. They told me to get a wife visa instead... Just make sure you have all the documents needed and yes it's true they always deny first time applications but maybe not all..

Hey Ross, Best of luck with your application. Would you post back after you have completed the app as i will be doing the same thing ( although for my wife) later part of this year and want to know the maximum chances of us being successful as we don't live anywhere near Jakarta and would only prefer the 1 flight there for the application.
@ Kverz , My wife was only going to apply for the tourist visa as it will only be a 2 week holiday but after reading your post do you think the wife visa would be the better option? Thanks.

One flight may not be enough, as you have to submit the documents, may then later be called for an interview, and then go and collect the documents a week or more later.

Spot on Hibby. I have did this twice before. On the very first occasion It was rejected and we were told to add more evidence. I added anything we had. Holidays, hotel bookings, photographs, bank statements and even had to write a letter saying everything coming into her bank account was from me. I even had evidence of this from my bank satements. The main thing is to prove she will return to Indonesian and not stay in UK.

    Hi guys,

We are just about to make the online application. But I'm confused again. Do you think we should put her as an individual applicant or an applicant with a partner from the UK. She is just my girlfriend (10 months), we are not living together yet.

I think I should put individual but I'm really not sure.

Also in the application form it asks "If someone else is paying for the trip, why?" Do I write" because he is my boyfriend" or should we just put "because I do not have enough money myself"

Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Thanks

    Ross
