Quite some actions mentioned underneath the US were United Nations sanctioned btw.

Anyway, if we include before WW II, then in the left column (Iran), there are some countries missing: Egypt, Libya, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Armenia, Turkey, Macedonia, etc. etc. The ancient Persian empires were world powers as the US, Russia and China today. And even more violent.

Also, they conveniently forget the Iran-Iraq war, that lasted eight (yes 8!) years, not even 30 years ago.

So that there's justification for the "war on terror" and to hunt down Saddam Hussein and his weapons of mass deception .. oops, I mean destruction. LOL! And poor old Saddam never had anything to do with 9/11, but what the heck, hunt him down anyway because he's a mean bad ass boy.

To be fair, Iraq invaded Iran so it's not exactly like Iran wasn't defending itself. Of course, Iran later took the offensive to counterattack... but I sympathize with them there.

Iran is, as you noted, a sponsor for non-state entities which certainly do bomb/kill/maim/topple governments. To act like Iran is a lamb is just wrong.

Iran plays a dangerous game, but is part of a wider continued conflict between Russia (and possibly China) and the United States. The Cold War has apparently not ended, but instead has taken on new forms. Let's hope for the sake of everyone on the planet that we don't repeat "duck and cover".

Errr? This is the United States we're talking about here. Their need for Causus Belli could have simply been the aforementioned WMDs as a ruse. There was no need for planes to fly into buildings to make that happen.

I don't care for our invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, and as a Muslim I am negatively impacted by U.S. policy. Trying to wrap my head around the U.S. government engaged in a "false flag" attack though really makes my head hurt. Not to sound too much like an atheist, but we should heed Occum's Razor in relation to this.

I agree. There were anyway enough pre-9/11 motives to go after Al-Qaeda (1993 WTC bombing, 1998 US embassies bombings, 2000 USS Cole bombing) and the Taliban (brutal repression of women, support for Al-Qaeda and the opium trade in Afghanistan) without the need to stage any fake attacks.

They didn't just go after Al-Qaeda. Saddam had no connection with Al-Qaeda, but they went after him and Iraq anyway as soon as they could after 9/11. Bush launched the "War on Terror" and the events of 9/11 was the justification for this. Bush's famous words about the "War on Terror" after 9/11 I thought was well documented.

The justification for the Iraq invasion was the alleged existence of WMD's.

Not only were the 9/11 attacks used to justify the "War on Terror"; the "war on terror" itself was used to label any military campaign against an opponent of established regimes around the world. Bush did include Iraq into "the axis of evil" and mentioned a supposed support from Saddam's government to Al-Qaeda; these allegations were baseless and never proven to be correct.

But then again, Bush said many things. On the same speech he declared his "War on Terror" he also used the word crusade in connection with the same military campaign. What a brilliant way to lead foreign policy...

Common sense is absurd in political world ....

What we probably see as real/not in 9/11 , was probably (initially) a product of a specific political policy......
Translated/Implemented in the field as 9/11....

That is what happen with everyone about everything everyday.
    - There is an event
    - We perceive what we can through our sense (that include looking/listening mass media)
    - The information perceive by the sense are send to the brain which make an interpretation of them.

The part of perception, brain analysis and interpretation can be very subjective.

From the beginning your sense are not objective and can trick you... now imagine your interpretation of them!!!!!
