Well then I'm an Aussie woman and have taken a couple of years off to travel around, just recently have been to new Zealand and sth india( for the third time) and came across Bali in my travels and fell in love with the place ,so decided to come live here for a while.my passion is music, I have played guitar for over thirty years, sometimes working as a solo performer, just lately however I have been getting into the ukulele.....beautiful instrument. My background is in nursing, but I'm over it and am looking for a new kinda lifestyle and employment........and as far as lifestyle goes I'm certainly getting that in Bali! I've been transiting from playing tourist to living here and sometimes I become so overwhelmed with the frustration of trying to understand how to do just the most mundane things like pay my electricity, pay my water bill etc etc that I just stay home for a day or two and Watch some English movies or the Aussie channel on tv just for a break. Then with the batteries recharged I venture forth again. I have some good Sumatran friends that have helped me enormously , but we do have language problems, I'm trying to learn bahasa but it doesn't feel like its happening quickly enough, and whilst the speak English , Ive just come to realize that a lot of what I say they don't understand so we have many misunderstandings. Hence me reaching out via this forum to find some English speaking friends, just to help balance things out a bit for me, and maybe swap tales and knowledge of how to live here...............
