Teaching in Manokwari West Papua

Does anyone have any experience, tips, advice, cautions anything on teaching and living in Manokwari? I've found a position, but am unfamiliar with the location and people. I know there is a bit of political turmoil happening right now. From what I understand the people don't want to be a part of Indonesia. Anyone have any better insight?

I went there to pick up some parts that had been shipped there accidently from Sorong. I was working on a project near there for BP about 7 years ago.
It is a typical papuan town its really not that nice by my standards for actually living there for any long term basis but having said that if youre an adventurer and really want to see a different side of life knock yourself out.

Difficult place to live and completely culturally different from mosy of Indonesia. Very few European expats and you need to be an adventurous person to go. On the plus side could be lots of job satisfaction.
