if you head out north from the city on the road past Kampung Gajah and keep on through Parompong you will eventually come to a camping and activity area. Go up the hill past this and on the left you will see a suitable place for a walk from hell. I forgot the name - will have a look around and see if I can find it.

You can walk down to the bottom of the gorge there and the scenery is beautiful. Sadly for me on the day that I visited they had closed it off because all of the monkeys had come down from the trees and they thought it was unsafe for visitors- to be honest-I was quite glad... hehehe walking down would have been fun- walking back up might have taken me some time.

I hope this link works to show you where it is...
Also the food available in the warungs by the parking area is very good

Also on the left at the bottom of the hill (just over the bridge you can park up and there is a pretty waterfall with some pools at the bottom that I have seen people swimming and playing in, it is not - or until now was not a very busy place,, oops)

lmao- when you said what you liked I thought, ahh I can help ... Trans7 - wouldn't touch it with a barge -pole... so very not my scene.
There is also the butterfly garden... from Parompong take a left down towards the city - not sure which road though... was in passenger mode and we had a flat tyre so was not paying too much attention to directions... Cihanjuang - is the place it is situated... I think the cost was 20,000 and its a lovely place - again a quiet not so well known place.

I visited Bandung zoo, not somewhere I will visit again (and I hate saying that publicly- they need the cash from the visitors- but don't seem to be spending it half as well as other places).... sadly it looks very much in need of investment and it seriously pissed me off to see brainless tourists throwing any old junk at the animals. Entry cost 20,000IR
I got stressed and angry there... am hoping for something to pop along in life and redress the balance for these animals... maybe one of the visitors will fall into the crocodile pit as he is throwing a lit cigarette at the animal... sigh.
There is Cikole... the tree-tops camping park with paint-balling and other such activities, however it all comes at a price- a cabin there is around 5 to 600,000 IR per night.

There is the volcano crater and the tea gardens here too...
Tried to visit the crater yesterday... however - I refused to be "Bule'd" and told them to "eff- off" and flipped the finger ( I am so very adult at times hehehe) when they tried to charge double entry fee to me- just because I am white...
I dont subscribe to racism so now way will they get my cash- ever... happier to give the 50,000 to a kid in the street than to some money grubbing racist enterprise.

Shame all of us are not the same
