a quick note tho... too much sun and too much water makes the fruit ripen too quickly and then the skin splits... try to keep the soil moist but not soaked through...

Are we saying that seedlings brought in from Uk for herbs and/or flowers do not grow well here? Is there a problem with the compost/soil being compatible for the seedlings or is it quite simply that it is too hot to plant openly outdoors due to the excessive heat or rain? If your Indonesian home like mine, I do not have any window ledges like in the Uk and I have found it difficult to find suitable places to put the nursery seedlings to avoid too much heat sun or rain.

Some of the plants are not resilient to some of the diseases and pests here either, mrcibubur.
I guess a small seedling frame/shelter made from bamboo with a plastic roof would work- and cover with tarpaulin in the midday sun... say , maybe 1.5 metres hi x 2 metres wide x 1 metre deep
With a shelf in the centre - this should give lots of room for a wide variety of seedlings to get started.
It should be cheap enough and simple to construct... don't pay ACE hardware prices for the tarpaulin though... ask for "terpal" in the local toko besi (hardware store/ironmongers) I think a 2mx3m sheet cost me 30,000IR.
