You can get gas bottles anywhere. If your not here yet then brining one over is a good idea. But use it once first, if its still boxed and looks new you will get charged import tax (maybe). there is a thread somewhere here about this.

Please dont forget to invite those people who have offered you advice, to the first BBQ.

Well if you looking for gas one which I don't like at all Ace Hardware has good deals but no second hand sell value at all, and will spoil soon but you can use at least 2 years I guess.

If you looking for burning coal one, is the best go to stainless steel manufacturers and and get custom made one, where the best will cost you around 200usd can use for 10 years at least...

I like the coal ones for sure better taste, but mate, the gas one is the go, turn it on and more time for drinking beer.

I have had many bbqs over the years, and have learned to balance the beer and wine drinking with the turning of the steaks.

ok will invite you all for marinated steaks (secret receipe....

I don't know about the quality...but I have seen a Chinese made charcoal BBQ grill (similar to Weber) in this restaurant supply store at Gajah Mada Plaza. It was at least a couple months ago so I don't know if they still have it or not...price was around Rp 400,000. Similar charcoal grill at Ace would cost you around 1.5 million rupiah. Makes me ill to think that back home in the US it would cost only about $40

I am looking for a grill myself though....if i found another place I'd let you know....don't worry...summer lasts all year long here lol

My friend converted a gas one to a gas/charcoal/smoker hybrid. He made the gas burners easily removable, added ash containers and a smoker box. He'd turn on the gas burners, added chunk charcoal on a grill just above the burners, and the food is above that. Wait 15-20 minutes, the grill is hot and the charcoal is starting to burn. Perfect for large roasts and steaks/chickens. Not so good for veggies or skewered kebabs.

We brought ours with us, but just be aware that the gas fittings here are different too to other countries. Can get converted...but extra cost of course.
